The staff for buying firearms and accessories were nice and pretty knowledgeable. I was there for the gunsmith, who was not helpful. He seemed as if it was an inconvenience for me to ask questions about my gun, and how to get it fixed. He offered no real help and I was very disappointed with the overall experience.

All the negative/bad reviews really are factual! Stay far away from this arrogant infested place! They need a big piece of humble pie. I went into the store looking at what all the fuss and bad reviews were about to see if it's all really as bad as people say and the critics have not lied. Only employee that was pleasant was George. The rest of the guys are arrogant and snobs! I shouldn't be talked down to for asking a question, that's what you're there for, that's what you get paid for. At one point I was walking around with my son and explaining to him that Glock was actually in the plastic business in the early 1960's before they started making guns when one guy working their had the nerve to purposely interrupt the conversation with my son to tell my son I was wrong when in fact he was wrong! Who does that?!? I'm not sure of this employees name but just in case he reads this, on glock history it says specifically "In 1963, Gaston Glock founded a plastics company near Vienna Austria. His moderately successful company primarily manufactured plastic curtain rod rings along with various other plastic products." Again I don't know why he went out of his way to make me look bad in front of my son, not my idea of good customer service! They seem to go out of there place to be rude and make snide comments. I've been in retail for over twenty years and I couldn't imagine treating my customers this way. How does this place still exist?!?

My experience

DA! I've bought 2 pistols and both times was pleased with the help and response to my questions. Were you people having a bad day?

Rude, aloof employees.

If I could give a negative star...I would. These folks seem only to want to give you attention if you want to purchase an expensive item. Every time I go in that is the attitude I receive from them. They don't give advice when asked, and seem to not want to help you.

awesome service great place to shop

I have to say after the many gun transactions that have taken place between Specialty Sports and myself have been awesome. I need to give props to the number one sales person there Mr. Bud, or Toyota Bud as I like to call him, every single time I visit the store it's like visiting a long lost friend. He treats my wife and I better than family. Knowledgeable, friendly knows what I'm looking for and has called me to let me know when they get guns in that I'm interested in buying. As I said before friendly not pushing to make a sale willing to work with me to get me into the right gun for the right price. Another guy that is great to work with is Bud 2 shorter glasses knows his guns and is awesome for someone looking to buy their first gun. Patient and willing to explain fit and function to get you into the right gun not just any gun. Great people great product. I have seen some bad reviews and can only think it might be the one leaving the review as I have not had any issues in the years I have dealt with Specialty Sports. Thanks All. PS I can't leave out the nice gals that take your money professional and pleasant got to love em.:)

This place is Great.

Me and my wife went here this afternoon and had only a pleasant time. Very awesome staff and great selection of firearms, accessories and ammunition. Highly recommended.

Rude People

Ive been in that store twice and have terrible customer service. This must be a family business because no manager worth his salt would let his employees treat his customers that way. Ive read several other reviews and im not the only one that thinks these people are a bunch of a&&es.

Employees

Went in on Thursday the 22nd, even though employees asked "can I help you", when I got help, they're unresponsive and brain dead, I'm holding a S&W revolver for inspection and I swear I could have stuck it in my pocket and walked out with it, the dude didn't even pay attention to me, staring off in the distance. I bought an ammo can, the second we completed the transaction I was shooed away from the counter. Screw them, let em leave the state! I've never been happy walking in that store.

Worth the trip to look...

The store has an amazing selection of gear and arms but the staff is surly and arrogant for the most part. Was going to buy a scope instead of getting it on the net but the salesman was such a d**k, I just walke out. I have been there three times in about a year and because of the attitudes, always just left.

Worth the trip

I live in Northern Colorado and we just don't have anything quite like this. These guys have an amazing selection and the prices are pretty good--Bud's it ain't. I was able to see 3 guns I wanted to compare, under one roof, that I would have had to drive all over creation to see otherwise (if at all). The staff people I encountered were fine by me and I wonder about the other poster's demeanor that found them disagreeable. They also have a lot of accessories and great deals on closeouts. If they were 100 miles closer to me I'd be on cloud 9.

The last time I was in I nearl...

The last time I was in I nearly had to tackle someone to help me. This was early in the morning and not busy. When I went to check out, the guy at the register was busy with what appeared to be a personal conversation with another employee. After about 5 minutes, I went to find someone else to help me with minimal results. I finally had to ask this guy if he was interested in checking me out or I would to to Sportsman Warehouse. He checked me out with an attitude. The prices are high and I am done with them.

High Prices and Some Very Arrogant Employees

I've bought a few rifles there over the years in my effort to keep money spent at local businesses instead of lower priced national chains. Regarding cost expect to spend $1,250 for a rifle costing $1,000 elsewhere. My biggest issue is with the arrogance of some of their employees. Last time I was there my godson was with and he just returned from his 4th tour with 1st SFG in Afghanistan. My godson asked to see a SCAR16 and an employee I believe under age 30 said to him out of the blue that all of the Army units suck and don't do anything important like the SEALS and they are the real deal. I couldn't believe it and had more than a few chosen words for the employee. The older employee Art was near and realized something was ignorant was said by his coworker. I'll never buy a gun from them again after this. That lowlife employee is still employed, the store manager did nothing to my knowledge. Everyone I know was told of the event.

Nothing in this store is price...

Nothing in this store is price "Competitively" unless by competitively you mean more than anyone else in town.

Shooter

I'm from out of town an often go to this store when in the Springs area. I have purchased more than several rifle's an pistols from this store. They do have a great selection. On the down side most of their staff are down right rude an unfriendly, one little weasel will answer your questions with any bull---- answer and can't even look you in the eye. You will know him because he will stand there with his hands behind his back and either look away to the side or at the ceiling when talking to you!!! And very unfriendly. Just find someone else. Some of the staff will help you to the best of their ability. Jeff the owner is very helpful and I've learned to just avoid the others. Overall good selection of firearms.

Great place to check gun-hand fit

The amount of guns in stock is outstanding. However, I have found three people that were knowledgable in my many trips to the store, the rest were either insulting or condiscending. I go there to shop, not so much to buy.

Customer Service

The owner is very knowledgeable but some of his new staff aren't, not only they think your ignorant they offer to buy your equipment as in insult to you..

New Gun Owner

I stopped in looking for a handgun, I’ve never owned a gun before but had an idea of what I wanted to buy. I spoke with the owner who stopped what he was doing and explained in detail the process as well as the process for a concealed carry permit. I then began my shopping experience. I must have looked at 20 weapons of various makes and models. The behind the counter staff was patient and knowledgeable and took their time showing me everything I wanted to see. He even had a few suggestions after learning what it was I was looking for including the one I ultimately chose. I checked online and learned that the weapon was nearly $200 cheaper from prices I found quoted on the internet. I would recommend this store and will return.

Their stock is back - and worth a vist

90% of the time I have had very good service when looking / buying in the store. The other 10% has just be "good".I am local to the Springs and I found that over the last year or so Specialty sports has been jam packed with folks trying to buy lots of black rifles and such. Folks were lined up 4 deep saying I want this or that. Thank goodness that mad house time has passed. When the place is not a mad house - they are more than willing to chat - talk pro's and cons about rifles, pistols, etc. Prices are not high - but not low. The are I think one of the top 10 stocking dealerships in the US - as of this post their shelf's and walls are full of rifles and pistols. Some ammo is hard to find - but that has been changing for the better.American Express is no longer accepted - I guess the fees just got too high for them to continue accepting that credit card.

go to www.midwayusa.com

this place is really over priced. The rifles go for 400-500 more than what there worth. The people that work there have very little knowledge of the but they put up a good front. That's the best thing they do there.
