Description: The Southern Colorado Spay and Neuter Association was opened in April of 1997 as a hopeful solution to the pet over-population problem. Operating out of a little veterinary clinic on the south side of Pueblo, CO, So Co Spay and Neuter Clinic is a wonderful place for pet owners to play a key role in the health of their beloved pets! As a non-profit organization, our clinic can offer spays and neuters for a much lower price than what a regular veterinarian can. This service helps families who could not otherwise afford to have their animal sterilized. Our services are open to the public, regardless of income and offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Appointments are necessary for surgeries, but vaccinations are given on a walk-in basis.

Currently, we have a staff of eight, including the licenced veterinarian who performs the surgeries. Three members of the staff work for our no-kill animal shelter that is also a part of our clinic. As a non-profit organization, we do have a working Board of Directors that oversee the practices at our facility, including another licenced veterinarian as an advisor.

Wonderful caring staff and service

by D.G. , 02/26/2013

The staff was great and provided a caring environment for my kittens. They were very helpful and answered my questionsand my kittens had a quick recovery. I recommend the clinic to anyone who wants a caring and well-trained spay, neuter, and immunization service for their pets at very reasonable price.

Awesome staff, awesome animals, awesome service!

I have had dealings with the Southern Colorado Spay & Neuter clinic for over a decade now. They are amazing! I am thrilled with the care my pets get there, the caring, courteousness, and knowledgeability of the staff, and how professionally the clinic is managed. The veterinary and shelter areas are kept very clean and the animals are well-cared for, happy, and healthy. There isn't a single staff member that I wouldn't trust with my pets 100%. The fact that they are low-cost is the icing on the cake.

This place was clean. It smelled clean when I walked in and everyone there had a smile on their faces. I got a shot for my cat and a microchip for my dog. I will be back for sure.

great place for pets

What a refreshing experience! My pet pit bull recovered in a matter of days! The incision site was small and clean and the receptionist answered all of my questions very kindly! The staff was so patient with my girl because she was really scared at first. She was wagging her tail when I picked her up. I recommend this place to all of my friends.

Who would know?

I have called there on several occasions only to reach an answering machine with every time. On the message it states to leave a message and phone number and they will return your call...I'm still waiting 4x calling and several weeks later! My dog could get pregnant and have puppies by the time I hear Hmmm, very odd, I sure hope there worth the wait. Has anyone else had this problem??

They might be cheap but is it worth it??

just so there is no mix up, i am all for non profits, and i love the idea of low cost spay and neuter, great for the community and people who love their pets but cant afford vet spay and neuter prices. we have used them for years, ill find strays cant find the owner so i have them fixed and find them a home. yesterday i took my little pitbull in there to be spayed, was told she was 2 weeks pregnant, i told them no way she was, i watched extremely close while she was heat, by the way she came out of heat in october. the manager proceeded to ask if i wanted her to dig the fetus' out of the trash i said yes i do, i know she wasnt pregnant, she freaked out and started yelling at me, she shouldnt offer if she has no intentions,,,then she hung up on me, i called back and she was super rude,,NO WAY will i use them again or recommend them again, the humane society on eagle ridge offers low cost spay and neuter,,,USE THEM INSTEAD

Excellent care and great price
