History Sollenbergers Messenger Service was established in the 1970's by Nicholas Sollenberger and Mary Ann (Sollenberger) Perry. The business began in the family home and a Chambersburg location was quickly added. By the 1980's, locations in Shippensburg and Carlisle were added. In 1992, the business was incorporated and ownership transferred to their children, Dwight and Michelle when Nicholas retired in 2004. Since 1992, a fifth office was added in Harrisburg which acts as the "hub" between the other offices and Penn DOT. The business has since received serious upgrades with becoming Penn DOT Authorized Partners, which meaning we have computer systems that link us to the DMV for certain transactions. Therefore, we can process many of your DMV needs instantly. Other businesses owned by Sollenberger's Messenger Inc. are Auto Dealers Title Service, PA Auto License Service, Harrisburg Auto Tag Service, and License Information and Claims Service. These businesses are handled by our Harrisburg location and specialize in handling the needs of Pennsylvania licensed dealers and tag agents

Rude!

I know that the ladies behind the counter deal with a lot of people who most likely don't know what they are doing, or question everything. That's no excuse for the poor attitude, rude behavior, and dirty stare downs I get when I go in there. I didn't wanna go the 2nd time, but location was convenient. I received the same rude attitude as the last time I was there.

never again

I have been going to this "messenger service" for several years now with no issue until now. Since I only go there to renew my registration I will not be returning again after today.I work nights, so I had to wake up early to get this done so my husband could get to work. We were going to stop somewhere else after we were done, but we didn't get a chance to thanks to this business.By the time I got my money and got there, the waiting room was pretty full. The people working behind the desk were in no hurry at all despite how busy it was. They don't have a number system, so it was up to the people waiting to figure out who would go next. They would just call "I can help whoever is next." That's not very helpful when we don't know whoever is next!We waited TWENTY MINUTES while they shuffled slowly behind the counter, stapling stuff here and there and taking their sweet time. There were two older gentlemen who didn't have up to date insurance cards and had to make calls or go out to their vehicles to get them, and I am including this fact for a reason. When it was our turn, the lady turned her back and was messing around with stuff in the photocopier. She spent at least five minutes flipping through papers and generally dawdling before finally helping us. I let her know that my insurance card is expired, and even though it has NEVER mattered before any other year I have used their service, I was told I would have to call my insurance company and fax them a copy. Then she asks:"Can you step aside while I help someone else while you are doing that?"The two older gentlemen were NOT asked to step aside for me and my husband while we were waiting, so as far as I'm concerned they had no justification to ask me or my husband to step aside. Now, by this time twenty five minutes have passed. My husband has to get to work. There's no way for me to know how long it will take these clerks to help the people behind us so I tell them I have to leave. Of course, they couldn't care less. No skin off their nose.To add insult to injury, the jerk who was behind me had the gall to snicker at me on my way out the door. I snapped back "whatever" but that's not what I really wanted to say! And she is lucky I didn't say what was really going through my mind. She hadn't waited for nearly a half hour for nothing, so she can take her snicker and stuff it where the sun don't shine.I think it's safe to say that I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE I KNOW EVER AGAIN. THEY HAVE SIGNS HANGING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND COULDN'T INCLUDE ONE TO REMIND CUSTOMERS THAT THEIR INSURANCE CARDS MUST BE UP TO DATE, AND PROVIDE THEIR FAX NUMBER SO THE NEXT TIME THEY CAN CALL WHILE THEY ARE WAITING IN THE LOBBY.Like I said, it never mattered before this, and they have all of a sudden decided it was a HUGE ISSUE so it is THEIR JOB to make sure customers know this before they sit down and waste their life in the lobby. If you want to get your vehicle renewal done, just go to the DMV web site. www.dmv.state.pa.us You can print up temporary renewal that will cover you until the sticker comes in the mail. There is NO need to use this "service" for something you can do yourself in the comfort of your own home.Like I said, I have NO intention of ever seeing that place again. I will sooner drive to Harrisburg than waste another half hour of my life being treated like a second class citizen.

Great place!

We go here for all our notary needs - the people here have a lot of patience and are very knowledgeable.

almost customer

I went to Sollenberger's to transfer a title, but the 2 women there were combative and hostile. The person I was meeting brought the title and I left.

DON'T USE SOLLENBERGERS!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!You will end up paying more than you have to if you go there. The people who work here are rude, obnoxious, and NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE about PENNDOT rules. Go the PENNDOT in Harrisburg - you'll be glad you did.
