About Dr. Snyder

Dr. Snyder is a 1993 graduate of Iowa State University college of Veterinary Medicine. Before that she received her Bachelor of Science in Genetics also at Iowa State University. She had practiced in small animal veterinary medicine for five years in Scottsdale before coming to Payson in 1998.
Internships include a four week intensive course in small animal medicine and surgery at the renowned Animal Medical Center in New York City, and an emergency medical internship at the Animal Emergency Medical Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. She was chosen to represent Iowa State University in the student exchange program with the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Snyder is fully licensed by the Iowa and Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining and Licensing Boards, is Nationally Accredited and is an active member of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association.
She has dedicated her career to the care of companion animals.

Preventive Medicine
Procedures intended to minimize your pets chance of becoming sick or injured are your first and foremost responsibility as a pet owner. Preventive procedures include vaccinations, spaying and neutering, eliminating parasites, nutrition, and obedience training.

Diagnostic Procedures
Should an accident or illness strike your pet, accurate and timely diagnosis is essential. We provide blood testing such as blood cell count, liver, kidney, thyroid, adrenal and other organ function tests. Tests for diseases such as parvo, tick fever, valley fever, and heartworms in dogs, and Leukemia, FIV, and herpes in cats.
X ray imaging is available on site, and ultrasound, endoscopy, and MRI are available by referral.

Medical Treatment
Medical therapy to treat pets has advanced greatly in recent years. Life saving medical treatments for companion animals have helped our friends live longer healthier and happier lives. We are able to help them recover from illness more quickly, and feel better sooner. Nothing is more gratifying than helping one of God’s creatures back to health and happiness.

Surgery
A wide variety of surgeries are performed at Payson Pet Care. Elective surgeries such as overiohysterectomies (spays) and castrations (neuters), declaws, tail docking, and dewclaw removal are available.
Non elective surgeries are available to treat medical problems. Soft tissue surgeries such as gastrotomy (stomach surgery), enterotomy (intestinal surgery), cystotomy (bladder surgery) c-sections, and biopsies are performed.
