Great prices and selection on vegetable seed. It's an hour drive from my house, but worth it.

Snavely's is my favorite garden center in the whole Cumberland Valley. I get all my plants there. They have fresh annuals, perennials galore, hard to find flowering shrubs, trees of all sizes (some really big ones) and a wide selection of evergreens, some very rare ones I've never seen before. I can't compare the prices because the Snavely plants are usually much bigger & healthier.The plants are well cared for by a gardening staff that actually knows about the plants. They always seem to be watering or trimming. You can ask the people at Snavely's a question and if they don't know the answer they will find someone who does or look it up. Unlike the blank stares I get at other places if I can find someone to help me.I was looking for a Japanese Maple to set off the front of my house and found over 20 different varieties to choose from. Then they showed me all the hinokis and other unusual evergreens to go with my tree. Of course I ended up picking up a few hostas, and annuals to go

I love feeding the birds all year round. They help you slow down and relax in a hectic world. I have seed & suet feeders all year, as well as hummingbird feeders in the summer. I also have nesting pockets & bird houses to encourage them to stay close by. Snavely's sells a large variety of high quality bird food blends (not full of fillers like some stores) as well as neat feeders. The last one I got there is made from something like Trex so it will last a looong time!
