its a bust

I purchased a top of the line still backpack leaf blower there. I took it in on the start of my 3rd fall for a routine service. The blower worked fine before the service. When I picked up the blower I was charged $187 for the service & the blower has not worked since. I took it back in & was met with rudeness & bitterness towards the return. They accepted it back & kept it 2 weeks before calling me to say it was done. Today I tried to use it yet it won't work. I will never take nor buy anything there again

Have to agree with most on review- purchased my ztr several yrs ago and Don, the owner was so helpful at the time I left feling good about ALL the $ I spent on an on sale mower- my fault for not doing more checking- however for the past year I have called and returned there for a simple and common part and get the same answer each time- lookk at this for a # - give us this # so we can look up part and on and on and on! They don't even bother to try to act like they're interested in your prob. However they did make the comment that if I was unable to get it fixed they have some really good deals on a new one!!! And guess what- they will even take my "Broken one" as a trade in!!! Would not purchase trimmer string from this garden center if the weeds were choking me- SHAME ON YOU Slippery Rock lawn and garden. By the way, the star I gave them was only to enable me to leave my comment.

I bought my Stihl 026 chainsaw there 10 years ago.. From Don the Manager.. It is a commercial grade quality.. I was assured at the time of sale that i could use it 8 hours a day for tens of thousands of hours.. I paid the extra money even though i knew i was only supplementing with wood heat and would only use it a couple hundred hours a year or so... Every couple of years i would take it there for maintenance / tune-up when it would give me trouble running or starting.. No problems until this last Spring it wouldn't start.. As i pulled into S.R. lawn n Garden the first thing i noticed was the big sign on the lawn saying " Trade in Trade Up "... I dropped off the saw... They called 2 days later to tell me it was "shot" and not worth fixing.. When i went to pick it up they attempted to give it back DISASSEMBLED; and Don kept trying to get me to trade it in, saying the $20.00 inspection fee would go towards a new saw.. I told him No and that i would wait for them to reassemble my property... After a half an hour i got my chainsaw back..On my way out i took a look at the used saws the were selling.. and I had to wonder how many people were duped into selling a good commercial grade quality saw for $20.00 !! I took the saw to my redneck neighbor; he fixed it right up.. He said there wasn't nothing wrong with it.. No scored cylinder !! It was far, far from the end of it's exceptionally long life... He cleaned the air-filter and blew out the lines.. Needless to say i will NEVER go there again..

I agree with the other 1 star ...

I agree with the other 1 star rating. I heard the older employee (not the oldest one) talking on the phone saying he can't do anything without a model number (don't know what it was about), and sure enough when he got off the phone, I told him I had a cub cadet with 21 inch blades 3/4 inch diameter hole and with a vapid look, he said he couldn't do anything without a model number! No other questions, he couldn't get off his behind to look at the deck I even brought with me. No other questions and absolutely no interest in helping or even giving the impression he wanted to help. This is my third time here over the years, and it is the same. I do not know how they stay in business! After working in the business for as long as he supposedly has, he should have SOME clue as to what would fit, especially mower blades! NEVER going back to do business with these bums.

I have been using Slippery Rock Lawn & Garden for several years. I have always found their staff pleasant and well informed and able to answer all my questions and concerns, even when they pick up and deliver my equipment. My equipment has always been returned in better shape than when they picked it up. They steamed cleaned my engine, deck, checked all my belts and fluids. I would and will continue to use them as a service dealer for repairs and the purchase of new equipment. I understand that last summer was an "early" season, however, my equipment was still done in a timely manner. I also am now the proud owner of several pieces of Stihl equipment. I love my MS 211 with my carbide chain and have done things with it that I haven't been able to get done in the past. It is for this reason that I am giving them the highest rating possible. Have a great summer. hsafarm....
