I love this Bakery by Jess - 10/06/2009
It is a little more expensive than your average grocery store, but right in line with other bakery's... the eclairs are great, the cookies are fantastic, donuts great. Can't say enough good about this place, was suprised by some of the other comments.

Dry cakes, worse service by kjen - 08/29/2008
This bakery used to be great, but the quality continuously declines while the prices increase. The last cake we bought was extremely dry and tasteless. We waited over 10 minutes for service; however, there was no one else in the bakery. Maybe they were waiting for us to leave and decided after 10 minutes we may actually need service since our pre-ordered cake wasn't available in front of the counter. The name on the birthday cake was spelled wrong (although I clearly spelled it 3 times during the order in response to the shouting "WHAAAA?" on the other end). A bad experience altogether. When I called to speak to a manager about the quality of the cake, I was told the manager was out, and "sorry." That about sums up the whole experience, sorry.

Pricey but worth the treat now and then by dloras - 10/13/2007
When I want a special treat, I go to Schmidt's bakery. I love their bienenstich and my daughters love about every other cookie--haystacks and german chocolate and mint sandwich, and toscos. I have often ordered eclairs and brownies for big socials and been happy with the results. We also ordered a wedding cake from Schmidt's--a fondant, three-layer that was beautiful to look at and a treat to eat as each layer was a different flavor and filling (we'll see just how well the frozen top layer lasts on the anniversary of the wedding). I appreciated their willingness to duplicate the dream cake my daughter had in mind and to use the ribbon we provided. They also delivered to our reception center without a hitch. A bit pricey but worth the cost now and then.

Have not had good experiences with the wedding cakes done by this bakery. They are dry and not very tasty. I can't fugure out why so many reception centers use them. The one cake was so bad Schmidt's even agreed, after seeing and tasting it that we deserved a free cake at another time. We ordered a sheet cake for a son-in-laws birthday and it was even worse; you would have thought that they would have tried extra hard to redeem themselves.
