Deceptive Work Ethics & Very Poor Quality by jmw - 10/14/2009August 2009 I used ServiceMagic on the web to find a contractor. Royal responded and bid on reroofing and gutter/fascia. The bid was accepted. Generally, the consumer has 72 hours to change their mind; the materials were delivered 6 hours after signing? On the first day of work the owner had a piece of gutter up on the roof, brought it down and said, "they sent the wrong color". He showed me the gutter which was my 2nd choice of color and I approved it. Then he installed a color I specifically rejected. I requested a list of materials and he got outrageous, "In 13 years, no one has ever asked for a materials list! How dare you suggest dishonesty!". Per the materials lists, drip-edge the color installed was ordered, NOT the color requested by the homeowner. Big promisses, no performance! by Alexa - 04/13/2009I was attracted to this company because of their name (I know, not very smart). We wanted to remove our old, bent and discolored aluminum soffits, fascia and gutters, restore the original wood underneath, and then install new gutters. We discussed this at length with a representative of the company. We signed a contract for the removal of the old stuff and the installation of the new gutters, with the understanding we would discuss and bid the wood restoration when we could see what the wood was like after removing the old stuff. Alarm bells should have gone off when the guy called one morning saying "Hi, I am by your house and ready to install gutters" and I had to remind him of our conversation about restoring the wood before attaching new gutters.
