Jean Cohen's Professional Experience:
Jean's background is in special education with learning disabled students and mainstream classroom teaching. She completed her training at the University of California, Santa Barbara, getting a bachelors degree, two credentials for elementary school teaching - one of them for working with children with learning disabilities, and a masters degree in education.
With several years experience gained teaching in Santa Barbara public schools, she broadened her career in the public schools of Western Australia. She returned to the United States in 1995 and now tutors on a volunteer basis with two Portland public schools, in addition to her work in her private practice.
