Unethical, Substandard Property Management Company by

Crooked and Criminal:I am not surprised to find other negative reviews about Quality Property Management Company. I too almost had to litigate with them. They attempted to rent me an apartment that hadnâ€™t been cleaned and had been formerly inhabited by extremely filthy tenants with inside pets (and strangely there was then a no-pet policy in place once I appliedâ€¦hmmm). The carpet was so compromised by animal urine, dander, etc. that a 3rd-party cleaning company I hired to test the carpet wouldnâ€™t even clean it because their tests showed the carpets to be compromised, i.e. un-cleanable and a hazard to human health. The pictures I took of the floors that they swore had been cleaned would make anyone want to vomit. QPM basically told me â€œtoo bad, youâ€™re going to take it as it isâ€ until I hired that 3rd-party house cleaning/carpet cleaning company that verified in their cleaning estimate that the carpets were compromised and the house would take eight hours to clean to standard. It took me two weeks, several emails, several letters, many phone calls, and the threat of a lawsuit to get my deposit and first-monthâ€™s rent back. I think the only reason I got my money back was because I documented everything with pictures and in writing during the entire two-week ordeal. If any other renter had been in my shoes and had been less prepared to deal with QPM, they would have lost their $1600 and/or would have been forced to live in an uninhabitable apartment and pay a pretty penny for it too. Upon rescinding my lease only two weeks later, I told them face-to-face that even though someone else renting the apartment next might not be as â€œvocalâ€ as me about how unsanitary the apartment is, it doesnâ€™t make it any more ethical for them to turn right around and continue trying to rent that apartment in its current condition to someone else. I HIGHLY doubt they will clean it up. I fear for the next renter in this spring 2012 season renting on High Street in Ashland. DONâ€™T take it; DONâ€™T rent it; DONâ€™T deal with those unethical people that call themselves a property management company!

If you like to be disrespected this is the place for you. They're nice, sure. Until you sign the papers, then you're on your own, which is fine unless something happens
