Welcome to Portland Children's Museum.

Spend a special day with your child and see what they can do in a space created just for them! We encourage learning through hands-on exhibits and art studios. Visit Baby's Garden, a huge space for our youngest visitors. There's a tree slide, a babbling brook, an aquarium and even a cozy water bed. Then for the older kids, Water Works has12-foot waterfall, sprayers that make music, water tables for splashing and more!

The Dig Pit has its own conveyor belt, loads of gravel and trucks galore, all while parents can enjoy coffee or a treat in the Cafe Annex. Building Bridgetown is a 17-foot, two-story house where kids connect plumbing, build, and wear tool belts and hardhats. In Play It Again Theater, kids direct plays with props, puppets, costumes, and a sound and light board. And don't forget about our Clay Studio, Garage Junk Art space and our traveling exhibit space, where Playopolis lives until October and then Clifford the Big Red Dog will show up through February!

Join us this summer for Playopolis - we'll go game crazy with indoor giant games, parachute fun, giant board games and more!

We're a great place to celebrate a birthday. We offer party packages that include museum admission, themed parties, goody bags, and activities like puppet making.

We're also a terrific place to take kids on a field trip. We offer group rates and a two-hour Exhibit Explorers trip for ages 1-10 and an Arts In Focus program for ages 2-10 during the school year.

If you're looking for a creative learning environment for your child, you'll want to check out Opal Charter School, a Portland Public School District elementary charter school, and our tuition-based preschool and pre-k/kindergarten program.

We also offer awesome full and half-day summer camps. Come see what hands-on fun is all about. Visit the museum, open every day March-Sept. from 9-5, closed Mondays, Sept-Feb 28. Come play with us!
