Old Fashioned Service, Old Fashioned Values - Gun Shop

by Roelof , 09/14/2012

I have been to Pinto's a number of times and I have always been impressed by the variety and depth of their inventory. The service has always been friendly, yet professional, and the sales-people are very knowledgeable and helpful. Whether you are looking for modern or classic firearms, reloading tools and supplies, or any other shooting paraphernalia, Pinto’s is the place for you. It is a gunstore with old fashioned ethics and old fashioned personal service.I am a huge fan…

Dang I had hoped I had a new friendly gun shop

by old guy , 03/09/2012

I enjoyed my 1st two visits to the improved Pintos', even bought a gun. Bought some powder next visit, then different day bought the wrong primers for that powder. Tried to return them right away and got the typical big biz hassle and gov regulations about can't help me switch to proper primers - told what if I could be a product tamperer? Asked if they want to lose me for the long haul as a good customer? Still no joy, so left unhappy but calm. Well, tried an email next day to see if she rethought the issue in my favor - dang that didn't go well and I was told this & that... and told to not come back! Wow and damn, I like to support the little guy / biz's. I guess the customer ain't right in America anymore or big Daddy gumint is controlling every last little detail. Some of you made side with her, well that's just fine but this was my experience. Take it for what it's worth.Old guy

We explained that this policy, which is standard in every gun shop that sells powder, primers and ammo, is there to protect the buyer, and in no way calls into question anyone's integrity or trustworthiness. How would any buyer feel buying primers that were known to have been returned to a shop? Reloading is always a potentially dangerous endeavor without having to worry that something may have tampered with. As far as asking this customer to not return to our shop, this was only mentioned after the customer threatened to share this information with his reloading friends and perhaps write an online review about his disappointment with us. We have no problem with someone offering constructive criticism, but when they simply don't agree with a very standard, known policy, that is perhaps a customer we do not need. We would welcome this customer back, however, we will not change our policy. Quite frankly, we have many customers who would never ask us to do anything to jeopardize our business, and we hope to be around for many years to offer them the customer service they deserve.
