I took my car to Pete's because I needed to smog it. The smog, I was told, would cost 60$. I was asked if the check engine light was on or anything-of which I said-yes. Make a long story short-I was told my car would not pass smog with the check engine light on and the only way they could tell me exactly what was wrong with it(as well as guarantee the work they did would solve my problem) is if I paid the 100$ fee of putting it on their diagnostic machine. I agreed. I was told the problem was with my intake manifold-a part that HAD to be ordered directly from Dodge at +400$. Labor would be 200-250$. I paid the 100$+$400+$250, check engine light stayed on. I was told to drive it around for 200 miles so the engine would reset & the light would go off. It did not. 600-700 miles (3-4months later) later, I had the oil changed (by someone else) - check engine light still on. 800Miles later-my car battery took a crap. Spent 150$ on a new battery. Within 20-30 miles-THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY GOES OFF. My insurance has expired and I have no money left to get it smog'd. Would I recommend Pete's? NO.
