PWI, also known as Partnerships With Industry, is a nonprofit agency that provides a range of job training, placement, vocational, financial, advocacy and ongoing support services for adults with developmental disabilities. It also offers various services in the areas of assessment, job retention and social security. The agency provides group services related to housekeeping, food, office support, car washing and detailing, animal care and landscaping. PWI participates in various recreational activities, such as holiday parties, talent shows, picnics, dances, movie outings and bowling. Its services are approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, also known as CARF. The agency is funded by individuals, foundations, the San Diego Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled and the California Department of Rehabilitation. Founded in 1985, PWI maintains an office in Chula Vista, Calif.
