Nearly a century ago, Maria Montessori established an educational approach based on her understanding of children's natural tendencies in learning. In this gentle ?Follow the child? approach, children are allowed to follow their own instincts to explore, move, share with a group, to be independent and make decisions, create order, develop self-control, abstract ideas from experience, use the creative imagination, work hard, repeat, concentrate and perfect one's efforts and creations. **Our Teachers** The heart and soul of our program, our teachers bring wi th them an enthusiasm and energy for the personal relationships created among the teachers, students and families. Two experienced Montessori trained teachers facilitate in our newly built 30-student classroom. Additionally, our experienced teachers have with a long history at OMS? combined over 60 years at OMS alone! Bringing a variety of language and cultural backgrounds, it is not unusual to hear the staff or parents also speaking Spanish, Cantonese, Italian, and French in the classrooms.
