Fair? To Sylvia
by Coissy , 08/09/2015
When I read this I had negative thoughts. We are all entitled to how we feel and therefore that is fair. It is good not to judge how someone feels regardless of what or how long, etc. God is the only judge...not me and not you.

I could not possibly be more disappointed with this clinic. Without getting into my personal details, I will guarantee you that every bad review on here is accurate. Every staff member I have dealt with (excluding a few receptionists) has been rude and condescending. Good luck getting calls back. If you need a medication refilled, you better hope they don't lose your message. I have waited hours to be seen for scheduled appointments on multiple occasions. I was referred to this practice because they are supposedly Christian, but even after telling them that I was a practicing Christian, they never once made reference to faith or how it could help in my recovery. This is the kind of practice that makes money in numbers. Customer service is irrelevant to them. Even when I wanted to talk to someone about the problems I had been having I couldn't get a call back. Please avoid this place if you are able. You will not receive the care you deserve.
GOOD care HORRIBLE billing
by Rob , 11/08/2013
I received a great service from one of the counselors. When it came to billing they were not up front, elusive and manipulative. If you want a place that lies to you that they take your insurance then you never here from then again. Go some where else or you'll stay in counseling forever with the stress from the billing.
Mostly really nice and helpful counselors

Both myself and my daughter went to Nystrom for a whle , the counselor I was seeing left to another profession , she was great, really liked her, so I switched to my daugthers therapist who is Becky Sanders.. Becky is great!! Highly rcommend, she understands alot of different situations, is empathetic, helpful, personable and just really nice all the way around as well as professional! i did have one lady I tried I didn't like , she wanted to talk about something else when I had so many other things weighing on me , her plan of action and my priorities were not similar.. so I just encourage people if the first person doesn't quite fit they do have plenty of therapist who just may do an great job with you! Don't be afraid to tell them what you want and stick to it!
Why do they call themselves Christ Centered?
by Don't go! Run! , 04/04/2013
I have had exactly one appt with this clinic. As I sat and waited a lady came and called my name, I had no idea who she was because she didn't bother to introduce herself. Turns out it was the nurse practitioner I was seeing. I talked to her about reducing my meds and left feeling that I had no info to help me with that and I did not feel listened to as well as feeling I was keeping her from something else I left totally not impressed. Then when I needed a refill for one of my drugs that does have withdrawal symptoms, they couldn't help me until 2 days after I was out of the pill, and starting to have some withdrawal symptoms. Theybhad informed my pharmacies that I wasn't a pt there! I asked if there was someone that could call it in, they said no and I should go to the emergency room. I laughed and thought to myself ,yes that is how Jesus would do it! Needless to say I will NEVER go there again and if anyone needs the name of a GOOD pychiatrist let me know I will give you her #. She is in a solo practice so you don't have to feel that you are moving from room to room like you are herded cattle! For those of you who are looking for a pychiatrist or counselor for the 1 st time, this is not the place to go. I have been seeing counselors my whole adult life and the unprofessional ism is not acceptable! Run Run Run!
STOP BEING NEGATIVE
by Sylvia , 03/20/2013
I believe that there is issues with every place. I believe that one bad experience does not make a place a bad place to go. In my experience with this company, they bend over backwards to make sure you have the tools and resources needed to help. They are so focused on the safety and wellbeing of each and every one. I know that most people think that they can call services and that they are to be helped right away. And if you dont get results right when you think you should get them, baam they are automatically the worst place ever. FYI, THINGS HAPPEN IN TIME. IT IS A PROCESS..... So on a final note, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR HELP!!! KEEP YOUR HEART OPEN AND DON'T BASE YOUR DECISIONS ON THESE REVIEWS BECAUSE NOT ALL REVIEWS ARE FAIR

They are far more interested in making revenue then in helping , staff blame you for their mistakes ,no staff are held accountable in how they conduct business. They make you pay loads out of pocket and maltreat you.

I saw two different therapists at the New Brighton location. The first one would spend the session brushing her hair and passing gad. The second one (Lynn B) was incredibly rude and began labeling me during one of our visits. I was also there to discuss situations i was dealing with and was told "We are doing DBT." I did not sign up for nor did agree to DBT. This agency only cares about money and not their patients. Stay far away.

Nystrom & Associates is a great mental health clinic. Excellent parking, friendly staff, and they even have a pharmacy located in the building!

I went in for medication therapy when all she wanted was a history review and nothing new. She had an attitude that what was going on with me was inginificant and even to the point of looking for drugs. I really need help and no one will offer to help me. I am not asking for the world just a little help. She REFUSED medication and now I m lost. Pleae help me.
