Nova Eye’s contact ens department is quite simply one of the best in North Carolina . Our safety-first approach to contact lens care keeps our patients’ eyes healthy and keeps our patients comfortable and seeing clearly.

Nova Eye prides itself in offering all the latest choices in contact lens technology. Whether you need basic contact lenses, astigmatism lenses, color contacts, or multi-focal options, we have it all.

We provide all the top performing brands such as Baush and Laumb, Ciba, and Acuvue.

Nova Eye excels at helping patients who have high amounts of astigmatism. Specialty lenses like Rigid Gas Permeables and the new Hybrid lens has allowed many of our patients of wear contacts who otherwise would not be able to.

Dr. James Kernodle is Nova Eye’s full time optometrist. A product of Villanova University and Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Kernodle has served Randolph County for over 10 years.

Patients over 40 can now continue to wear contact lenses comfortably with the multi-focal options which have become available over the last few years. Purevision Multi-focal, Oasys Multifocal, and Air Optix multifocal are some of the latest products that are keeping our over-40 patients happily wearing contact lenses.

RGP lenses and the new Hybrid lenses are being fit by Nova Eye to help keep our patients with high and special prescriptions able to wear contacts comfortably.

Nova Eye Care’s optical department was voted Randolph County’s Optical Store for 2009 by the Courier-Tribune, and it’s easy to see why. Aside from an outstanding selection of spectacle frames (including Banana Republic, Nautica, Micheal Korrs, Sax 5th avenue, Disney, and many, many others), our optical staff takes a serious approach to your glasses choice.

Not only do we want you to look good in your new frames, we also want them to be safe and comfortable. Ultra-Violet protection is very important to protect our eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. Unnecessary UV rays from the sun helps contribute to early cataracts, macular degeneration, and other preventable eye conditions.

Non-glare lenses in our glasses are necessary to help ease the strain of computer use as well as driving (day or night).
