Greedy and Ineffective Instructors

by Evan Weber , 01/26/2013

I was really excited by what they offered initially and picked up a 2nd job to help pay the monthly fees. About 3 months in, I had an emergency room visit (not related to training at NWFA) and a subsequent surgery. The medical debt went beyond $2000 and I was no longer able to afford NWFA. Despite the mitigating circumstances, and after pleading with them and showing them my bills, they refused to allow me to cancel my contract. I'm now forced to pay 1400$, which includes late fees on top of the $2000 in medical bills. It would have been nice if they had shown some humanity. On to their mode of instruction: It's certainly not worth $160/month. They mostly rely on students to teach other students. They're not very thorough in their demonstrations either. Their tiny gym sux too. For the money that you pay, they should have a much more extensive gym. I just don't understand why they couldn't couldn't show have shown me some decency.

Our family has been attending classes at nwfa for about 16 months. They have been helpful and it is clear that they do care about your success. My son was having some confidence issues and they went the extra step to help him. Giving him some extra responibilities and sometimes letting him lead the class which really makes him feel appreciated.

Awesome place to train!

NWFA is a great place to learn a variety of martial arts. They've got a great selection of classes, knowledgeable and friendly instructors, and a nice mix of class times. I've been a member there for about 8 years, and love it!

Life Changing

by MelBell181 , 02/04/2011

When I joined Northwest Fighting Arts I had zero experience and a very low fitness level. The instructors were very helpful, patient, and welcoming to me. They were always available if I had questions and often took extra time to show how to perform the techniques correctly. I never felt out of place in the classes. I have now been a full member for seven month, the longest I have ever maintained an exercise program. I would fully recommend Northwest Fighting Arts to anyone looking for a lifestyle change and an interest in learning a discipline.
