Horrible Experience, Wrong Diagnosis
by Emily , 06/03/2010
We took our 3 year old golden retriever into the clinic when he woke up on Memorial day and was suddenly limping, whining and refusing to put weight on his back leg. Dr. Grimm diagnosed him with a torn cruciate ligament and ASSURED us that 99.9% of the time this results in surgery, suggested pricey xrays which we declined and prescribed meds. When we took our dog to our regular vet after the holiday, he had Grimm's report - where Grimm had noted that she was unable to get drawer movement that would indicate a full knee tear - a tidbit she failed to share with us. After careful examination our vet determined our dog had a sprained hock, not a knee tear at all, and that Dr. Grimm had misdiagnosed our dog - and caused us excessive worry. We figure we'll write it off as a $119 visit to get painkillers to help our dog feel better over a holiday, but will not be going back to Northside Emergency.

I came home from work to find my dog, Lady, almost lifeless. I didn't know were to take her and found this clinic. They saw Lady right away and gave her the help she needed. The Vets were great, kind and very helpful. It also didn't cost me an arm and a leg, I was very surprized, the vet even called me at home to check up on Lady. I'd recommend this clinic to everyone who has an emergency or not.
Do NOT take your pet to this vet clinic!

We just had a horrible experience over the weekend with this vet. They didn't do any testing while our dog was there, they were rude and not helpful to our dog in any way. When we went to pick her up early, it took 45 minutes for them to get her to us and then she was completely drugged up and couldn't walk! She went in for a liver problem and they drug her up because she barks???? Without our permission of course! I will do everything that I can to get the word out about this place because I don't want anybody (or animal) to go through what we all did. We rushed our dog to VRCC who is the best emergency vet place ever. Oh and Northside charged us over 1500.00 and they didn't do hardly anything and didn't even have our dog for 24 hours! Don't go here!
Saving my dogs life

I love the emergency clinic here. My dog was hit by a truck and had it not been for their amazing care he would not have made it. they truely saved his life. All of the staff members were amazing and very caring toward my dog and also toward my husband and I.

We had a horrible experience with this place, they dont work with people at all, people are rude and say one thing and then do another. I have herd serveral people say the same thing. I think they are in it for the money not the (animals)or the family. I would not recommened this vet to anyone.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience there. I had to bring one of my pets in recently and I thought that they were great. I am thankful that they were able to turn her around so she could come home.

I visited this clinic last week, and was very impressed with the care of my dog. From the initial phone call, to the discarge of my animal, they were exceptional. In my opinion, they saved my dog's life. I took my dog to Northside Emergency, with an unusually large abdomen, and restlessness. It turned out my great dane had a condition called bloat. I had no idea what this problem was, and should have educated myself on this problem, that can happen in large breed dogs. There is no treatment for this problem other than emergency surgery. The emergency veterinarian, and all the staff, went above and beyond my expectations, and had my animal in surgery within the hour. I was informed of all problems that could develop after surgery, and luckily had none. I still have my beloved great dane Thor, and credit it all to this facility. People must understand that emergency care is not cheap, and you truly get what you pay for. Thank you Northside Emergency Pet Clinic!
