Welcome to Northeast Kettle Korn in Hillsborough, NJ. I’m Charlie Taverner and I would like to tell you about our wonderful company. One February day in 2001, my wife Diane and I were at a craft show in Fort Meyers, Florida when we sampled our first "kettle korn." Well, even though we were currently owners of a successful pool construction and home remodeling business, Di said to me, "This is a great product, we should sell it!"
After interviewing 25 kettle korn companies and tasting lots (and I mean lots) of kettle korn, we decided on the kettle and perfect recipe that produced the results we liked best. The result is a delicious twist of regular popcorn.
Our Kettle Korn is slightly sweet and slightly salty. Most people who have tried it agree it's the best they ever had. Our old fashion Kettle Korn is sold throughout New Jersey and the Eastern States at fairs and expos, arts and crafts shows, specialty and community events and church and school benefits. It's great for all occasions and makes a fantastic gift as well.
We still use iron kettles to pop in, however, we have streamlined the "popper" for commercial use and refined the process to ensure purity and little waste while improving the nutritional value. It's really healthy for you!
Using quality corn, soybean oil, sugar and dusted with different blends of salt, we stir the popping corn with a wooden paddle which helps the kernels explode into huge, fluffy popcorn. We turn out the finished product into a large copper receiving kettle and sell our korn in individual bags. On Mondays, we ship all over the country.
Since the tradition of popping corn is an age-old art, we dress in western attire and make an entertaining show out of our popcorn production. Our tent is similar to an old "cowboy cook tent."
Looking for "Korn" fresh from the kettle? Catch us at our next event. For a complete schedule, visit us online! Or, you can invite us to your next event. We are a high volume, popular and unique food concession vendor. We provide an entertaining, crowd-pleasing demonstration. The "popping" process is fun and exciting to watch. The aroma attracts huge crowds and the unique taste keeps them coming back again and again.
We have had great success with street fairs, expos, company or family picnics, car shows, antique shows, craft shows, birthday parties and church or community events.
