Our funeral home in Westville was founded and started in 1957. It was originally know as the Weaver Funeral Home, named after the former owner J.K. Weaver. Jack Weaver owned and operated the funeral home for 31 years until he asked Michael Newhard, from Valparaiso, the current owner, if he would consider becoming the new owner and operator of the funeral home in January of 1989. In 1995 with the blessing of Jack Weaver, the funeral home name was changed to Newhard Funeral Home. Michael Newhard continues today overseeing the day to day operations of the funeral home and serving the Westville area families in their time of need along with his wife Terri, and staff, Charles Harris, Diane Lawrence, Sally Szumski, Jim Bosse, Alice Kyle, Edward Forney and Richard Fagg. Sadly, in June of 2007, Jack Weaver passed away after being ill for some time. But the very nature he established of caring for families in their time of need after the loss of a loved one still continues today with families served by Michael Newhard and his staff at the Newhard Funeral Home.
