The mission of the New Mexico Christian Children's Home is to transform each child we serve into a Christian champion who is a respected, responsible citizen through services provided by a dedicated professional team under God's direction.
NMCCH is a multi-service agency meeting family needs with Residential Care, Adoption Care, and Single Parent Homes. We receive no government funding but are licensed under NM Health & Safety regulations
The New Mexico Christian Children's Home (NMCCH) serves boys and girls who need a change of environment or educational setting.
We believe a child just needs the chance to be a champion.
Children come to the Home for a variety of reasons. We are a home to the homeless. Single parents who deeply love their children are our most common clients. Death and divorce are common factors for the families that we serve. We provide child care help for parents with disabilities. Serious financial problems devastate some families. New Mexico is a national leader in child poverty. NMCCH is part of the solution.
Many grandparents, because of their age or health, turn to NMCCH to provide care for their grandchildren. The Home also serves needy children and families from Indian reservations. Addicted parents need assistance in providing for their children. School staff, counselors, social workers, and any good-hearted caring individual may refer families and children to us for help. Professionals in family services view placement at NMCCH as a loving and caring way to provide for children.
NMCCH is not a "rehab" for drug users or adjudicated delinquents, nor it is a treatment center for children with severe emotional or psychological problems.
The children live on a beautiful campus in the country, surrounded by grazing cattle and sheep, underneath wide-open enchanted skies. The cottages are attractive, modernly-furnished family-style homes. The children are served tasty nourishing food and are well-dressed. They are given the best-available medical and mental health care. Staff members are professional, positive role models who provide social, educational, spiritual, and vocational training.
The children attend schools that have an excellent working relationship with NMCCH. Tutors are provided to help with homework. Academic success is promoted through close supervision. Children with failing grades dramatically improve their test scores. Many are placed on the Honor Roll. Participation in extra-curricular activities is encouraged. Our students graduate and are eligible for college scholarships. NMCCH students have attended Christian universities in Oklahoma City, Abilene, and Lubbock, as well as Texas Tech, Eastern New Mexico University, and other colleges.
