The original business was called Triple Cross Antiques and Collectibles back in September of 1987, and operated in six locations in Indiana, and one in Michigan. Because of the exposure to new products during travel, they decided to become internet savvy and created a successful online business that has now expanded to include this retail store in downtown Walkerton, Indiana. The two types of businesses work well. The store has been able to specialize in shipping nationwide, because of the internet sales experience they have gleaned.
Customers are offered complimentary tastes of gourmet treats that have won acclaim for flavor without adding unnatural additives. Such items include products from Boscoli, San Saba River Pecan Company, Paula Deen, and Deer Track dip mixes with either a spicy, sweet or savory twist. There is gourmet coffee in 175 flavors available in one pot, 11 oz. or bulk sizes. They carry five or six popular kinds of gourmet tea available in bags or loose leaf, in such brands as Stash, Bencheley, Novus, Adagio and Tea Source. Customers are offered a free cup of coffee or tea on every visit. In the summertime they have a popular lemonaide and an assortment of frozen drink mixes from Big Train. Writer, author and television host, Steven Raichlen’s barbecue rubs, sauces and barbecue accessories for cooking over a fire are a popular item in the store. The Pomaireware clay pottery made in Chile is great for cooking over a campfire, but can also go in your microwave. The store carries five star spices such as Saigon Cinnamon and gourmet blends such as Greek and Feta cheese under their own label that will add a professional touch to all your dishes.
Choose from a number of cast iron teapots and pot racks from Old Dutch, as well as clear teapots for display teas. The Swiss Diamond pans have all the benefits of popular non-stick cookware, but without the health risks you may have read about. The powdered diamond coat is tough enough to use metal utensils on and heats without hot spots. The stainless steel cookware carried in the store is an excellent line by BonJour, as well as French presses for coffee, and hot chocolate pots and frothers.
The store features an online gift and bridal registry and a consultation service. There are well known dinnerware patterns by companies such as Signature Sorrento, Prograde SengWare and Homer Laughlin Fiesta in a large assortment of styles and colors in at least 1100 pieces. Professional chef knives are on display by Kyrocera and Mundial and there are all sorts of kitchen accessories and gadgets by Magic Slice, Fasta Pasta, Zyliss and JosephJoseph. We also carry kitchen accessories for child sized hands by Curious Chef. There are an assortment of grinders by Cole and Mason. For dining tables, hutches, and shelves there are furnishings by Westmoreland. Delightful aroma therapeutic lotions and dish soaps from Caldrea are a healthy alternative to harsh cleaning products and are a pleasure to use. The natural and organic products the New Kitchen Store offers are pesticide free and don’t contain harsh chemicals that are harmful to your body or to the earth.
