Fantastic Job

I purchased an inground pool in 2013. They did a FANTASTIC job! I highly recommend them to anyone that is looking into buying a pool or simply just grabbing a few chemicals. I love their retail staff at the Hillsborough location. They were very helpful during and after the purchase!

High Quality

I purchased my pool liner in 2014. I had a seem separate, so this Company actual replaced it for no charge, no hassle either. I consider National Pools a "high Quality" company.

Do not hire National Pools or you will regret it!

Ok, first some quick background. I have a large swimming pool which I maintained myself until June of 2012 when I fell seriously and traumatically ill, leaving me hospitalized for over a year. I am still on a slow mend both physically and mentally as I write this.Needless to say our pool fell by the wayside and remained closed for two years. Given the fact I can no longer deal with our pool myself I decided to hire a company to open, close, and maintain the pool over the summer season.I sadly bypassed Angie’s List and opted for National Pools of Hillsborough because I had been buying my supplies from them for over a decade. What proceeded was one of the worst customer service experiences I think I’ve ever encountered. From workers not showing up at the appointed time, then not at all, without so much as a call from the company. I had to call them and speak to Robert (the world’s worst customer service rep) and hear lame excuses describing just how utterly disorganized this company is.They finally showed up and pumped out the pool and asked me to fill it for the next 15 or so hours. I did and the pool was crystal clear. Then they didn’t come back, and didn’t come back, so I called Robert the Terrible to find if they were actually in the business of working on pools or whether this whole thing was a hoax.To make a long story short, Robert expended all his capital by essentially blaming me, the customer for their failure to perform the agreed upon work. After his tirade, he tried to calmly go on as if I was going to sign a contract with National. I calmly told him to send back my deposit and that I would seek the service of a real pool company elsewhere.Perhaps that was a bit flip on my part, but I was pretty mad about the whole thing and I don’t deal with emotional situations all that well right now due to my PTSD. All I know is that I wouldn’t hire these clowns to run a bath for me.I highly recommend that anyone who is seeking a pool maintenance company that you really check them out on Angie’s List or one of those services, or at least the BBB. There are too many reputable people in the pool business, why settle for the bottom of the barrel, which IMHO is what National Pools represents.Good Luck.

Disappointing is an understatement

I contracted National in February 2013 to renovate my inground vinyl pool. I choose them because of the price for the renovation, a bad choice because several of the things promised did not actually end up on the hard to read, handwritten contract. I thought I was getting a new concrete deck, vinyl liner, steps, coping with a start date that would ensure we would be up and running by Memorial Day. The job did not commence for two more months after the signed contrace and deposit. The second glitch occurred right away when I was informed that the price quoted did not include new steps or the coping I had chosen. Foolishly, I wrote another check. The next problem occurred when I returned home from work to find that the vinyl liner almost completely installed was not the one I had chosen. A decision is made to live with the wrong liner and then next screw up turns out to be unresolved. The mason arrives days before the May holiday to pour concrete and detects a leak at the skimmer. National comes out to repair which results in shovel fulls of dirt in the new pool and a leak that remains to this day. Deciding that the leak was indeed fixed, the deck is poured the week after Memorial Day. The deck is not level, one of the courners is low. i inform National that the pool still leaks at the end of May. Even though I was promised I would not have to pay them the remaining $1,700 on the contract until I was completely satisfied, they refuse to fix the leak until I do. When I ultimately realized i had no choice but to pay them, they sent out a technician twice to turn screws at the skimmer and stairs, each time telling me the leak had been found. It is the end of October, and my pool still leaks. National has almost $12,000 for a pool renovation that is not finished. We have spent over $500 in water filling the pool constantly so we can keep the skimmer running and use it. Many times a visit from the man who represented the company and claims to be an owner has been requested and not only has he not come out to survey the damage, but he wiill not respond to emails or phone calls. We are most likely going to have to sue to get any kind of satisfaction. Please do not hire National Pools and Spas to do any kind of work on your pool. You will regret it.

Great Experience

I highly recommend this company. I purchased a spa through their Hillsboro location at the end of 2012. The salesperson was polite and very knowledgable and low sales pressure. I had been looking at other comparable brands, but because of the people there I decided to buy from them. They delivered everything they promised and even gave me a free spa tutorial.

Stay away from this company

After you pay approx. 50,000 to have an inground pool, this company is non stop problem after problem. They employ children who are unfamiliar with the new filter products. They make crutial mistakes and then you meet the "owner" a disheveled and unprofessional man who equates his pools to swimming in "lakes and swamps"- yes from his own mouth! Take the time to research what company you choose when making such an investment and steer clear of this one! Probably has its reputation from being owned previously by his parents, but certainly did not get where He is now by himself...

AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE POOL STORE

I love National Pools and Spas. They have the best employees and really know their stuff. The manager with the big head is as hilarious as he is helpful, which is a lot. Their service deparment is god awful but I refuse to use any other store for pool supplies. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

From the salesman who promised the world to the permit taking 3 months, then the non english speaking sub contractors to the wrong liner to the leaking plumbing to the concrete guy who never made an appointment to waiting over a week to start swimming after it was filled. NEED I GO FURTHER??? DON'T GO THERE, THE HORROR!!!!
