Even the best dogs need training and we're here to help. Training dogs, teaching handlers and instructors is our profession—not a hobby. Therefore, why look anywhere else?
It's not often that one wakes up and just can't wait to get to work. I get to play with the puppies each and every day! How great is that? I have worked with the best trainers in the industry and have over 25 years successfully teaching folks how to train their dogs of all ages and breeds; covering basic obedience in group, private and semi-private sessions.
Over the years, we've appeared in a couple of local cable TV shows and "starred" in a pet product infomercial with our own dogs. I was also one of two obedience instructors that contributed to the "Ask the Trainer" column in the monthly Pet Pourri magazine in addition to being written up in 26 newspaper articles. We have hosted seminars for local shelters and clubs. We have also had "stage time" to demonstrate basic and advanced obedience exercises at many of the local town festivals. We have brought therapy dogs to assisted living centers and have sponsored classes at many suburban park districts. I enjoy what I do and we have a lot of fun in our classes while getting the job done.
Recipe for success:
• Exercise (play)
• Walk (dogs love to leave and then return to the "den")
• Training and then a ‘cool down’ (calming/transition) phase
• Repeat later in the day
• Dogs love to be employed, so give them a job
It doesn’t have to be much. Begin with daily walks to the mailbox or to pick up the newspaper. Maybe their new job will be to lie down while you are having dinner or while changing the baby. How about having them accompany you while picking up the kids from school? I’m sure you can think of many ideas that will suit both you and your dog.
We offer two types of courses, obedience training for the family pet and career course for Instructors.
When it comes to the family dog, how many of these areas can you check off?
• Chews
• Won’t come when called
• Pulls on leash
• Jumps on people
• House soils
• Digs
• Runs away
• Barks excessively
• Selective hearing
• Just plain bratty and more
These problem areas (and more) are covered in our private and semi-private sessions. Believe me, we've all been there and you can learn how to control these situations. To ensure personal attention, your semi-private class size is limited to 6 participants and their dogs. If you can spend just two – fifteen minute sessions per day with your dog, you will see amazing results during the first week alone.
Ever thought about becoming an obedience instructor? Possibly that is something you have given some thought to but didn’t know where to turn? Well, you've come to the right place. It's a fascinating career as every day is a new adventure.
Offering private and semi-private classes for Instructors, as well!
Call to reserve your place in class. Class size is limited.
