New Experiences
For the next month, our guests are invited to zip around the Rotunda on a Segway, discover how Facebook and Skype really work, and see what happens when a watermelon drops from the Balcony. These fun activities are included in general admission. Museum educators and summer interns from Illinois Institute of Technology lead multiple daily presentations of your favorite live science experiences—and we’ve added a few more opportunities for you this summer.

Spectacular Segway Science is offered daily on the Main Level. Through this live program, you will learn how the Segway works and discover other innovative green forms of transportation. Guests 12 and older will also have the opportunity to ride the Segway—wearing a helmet of course!
Teens Teach Tech — Teen volunteers will engage you on the algorithms behind Facebook, how data travels through Skype and how YouTube’s streaming video interface changed the way people throughout the world communicate. Offered daily outside the Fast Forward exhibit.
Balcony Drop — See what happens when we drop the ball and much more. This fun lesson in elasticity happens every day. Categories:   Attractions | Movie Theaters
