Auburn Multi-Care Hospital Progressive Care Unit is a disaster about to happen

I was admitted to the Covington Multi-care emergency on October 11th. The facility was ultra clean and the care by Dr. Alvarez and his staff was professional & excellent, a BIG thank you !! I was taken by ambulance to Auburn Multi-care hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Room 326/1 that same evening. My wife and I immediately noted the door to the bathroom was greasy and smeared. My wife then looked inside the bathroom and found it to be so dirty and ill kept that she would not use it. I looked in and noted a porta-potty stored in the shower rendering it unusable. There was a fungal/organic appearing growth in the floor tile gaps and at the floor to base as well throughout the entire room. A 24"-30"dried puddle of urinewas under Bed 2 & I asked housekeeping to scrub the floor. She scrubbed only the dried urine spot. There were gauze bandages (sometimes bloody) and used vinyl gloves left on the floor most of my 3 day stay.My bedding or bedclothes were NEVER changed during my stay and I was never bathed. My urine bottle was stored on the table my food was served on. I was moved to room 316/1 and found that it was equally unsanitary. My multiple requests for EKG & ECG results were never answered or addressed. We do have pictures of the conditions we describe & they are available for viewingI will close by saying the medical care that I received during my 3 night/3 day stay were very good.

Auburn Regional Medical Center

I highly recommend this facility.I live in Federal Way. Twice I've elected to go to ARMC - 1st for a hip replacement and recently to ER with pelvic fractures that necessitated 2 wks. of rehab. This hospital has an exceptional rehab care unit. In comparison with five other (Settle & local) hospitals that I've been a patient in, this one far exceeds in quality of medical care, exceptional caring & attentive staff (medical and nursing) and very pleasant accomodations.I've had experience with many physical rehab facilities. I'm grateful that ARMC has the Acute Care Rehab Unit. I rate their care and their therapies superb.

Hygiene Care in the Stroke Unit

On October 28, 2009 my husband had a stroke during the night. Was not aware until he woke up and was dressing that morning. We live on Lea Hill near the GRCC - 911 was called. The medics came - transported him to the Auburn Regional Medical Center Emergency Deptartment. We ae grateful for the care he received there by the medical staff. Dr. Travedi and the other medical staff on duty that day provided immediate and life saving measures for him.He was admitted to the Stroke care unit on the 3rd floor where he continued to be monitored, etc., by his doctor, Keith Criddle, and the Neurologist, Dr. Trevedi, whom we had met in the Emergency area.No complaints there. However, the patient care provided in the Stroke Unit was not acceptable by the nurses and staff. Always, of course, there are exceptions to be made. Most of the staff and nurses assigned to my husband on the different shifts were friendly, supportive, relational, encouraging, monitoring his condition faithfully, and in

A Nightmare

The worst place I have had my mother in yet. She broke her hip and this joint is the only place the paramedics would take her. They had her over medicated but were telling me she was having strokes and would never wake up. One of the hospitalists told me they didn't want to do surgery on her hip because if she died on the table, that would mess up the surgeons numbers. But, it was the hospitalist who made the problem for not having the surgery. She had it, is still in the nursing home but is much better, no thanks to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Avoid if possible!

Auburn Regional medical center is one of the worst hospitals I have ever had to deal with, next to Stevens hospital in Edmonds, WA.###I will say that they are trying to better their ER care & have made some improvements especially on the time it takes to be seen.###But, a lot of the problems I have are with the Doctors. many are rude and insensitive and do not take the time to make sure the paitient or family knows the information needed when being sent home or info on their illness###Once my very ill elderly mother was sent home and no one made sure that she or the family knew what care she needed, she was home 3 days and almost died because we did not know she was supposed to be on a bipap. another time they sent her home and told me to call hospice, the did not help me at all, did not even give me a # to call. They have also given my father the wrong medication which almost killed him.###I will only go there if absolutley necessary, I prefer to drive 20 miles to Tacoma or Kent
