Iâm a very happy customer I had my car at another transmission shop in Johnson City and after 20 minutes I was told it needed to be rebuilt something just did not seem right with the shop it was dirty and they seem outdated on their knowledge. So I took it over to Mr Transmission where they Check it out and found a Blown fuse and did not charge me anything for fixing it. How cool is that! Iâm a happy Customer and will be back! Thanks for your help and taken the time to actually checking out my car.

I would like to say thank you all for being honest and doing great work. Honesty goes a long way in the world. I was told by Ramey Ford that it would cost $1400 to get a Torque Converter put in my car you where a lot cheaper far cry from Ramey Ford so to anyone needing work done on your car call these guys there the best and cheaper and wont lie to you. Thanks again you all. It meant a lot to bring my car to people who where honest not out to rob me, I'll tell everyone about you.

Towed truck in, got quote that day $471 from Brad, minor repair-fix today or tomorrow. Next day I called for status, ready tomorrow. Next morning Brad called and said another part was broken and requires more work-$778 now, I said wait checked prices at GMC dealer. Price for labor was .2 hours less and parts were both about 50% less. Went back to (Mr Milex Transmission) Mr. Transmission talked with Brad. The bill had been reduce to $602. He explained they had accidently billed me for double hours. I told him about the GMC dealer prices. He said they don't try to match their prices. I asked him if he could lower the bill by $100. He said that since they did not call me for a go ahead on the last part an get permission, he would take it off. I'm retired and spent 10 hours checking these prices and the reasonableness of them driving about 40 extra miles too. Others might not have the time. Actually another repair shop in town took my car to Mr. Transmission when they were unable to come up with an explanation for the noise coming from the vehicle. They told me that they highly recommend Mr. Transmission and believed I would be satisfied with their work. That day after work I made my way to the shop and met with Brad and Tim. Both assured that my car would be well cared for but they also said they had a backlog and it would be 3 - 4 days before they could get to it. In the meantime they drove the car hoping to hear the same sounds I was complaining about. Tim shook my hand and told me that he did things right and stood behind his work and I had nothing to worry about. On day 4 Brad called and gave me the diagnosis, of course I was hoping for less but the car has 167 K miles and this is the first time, other than the usual changing of transfer case and pan, filter and fluid that any work has been done on the transmission. The car was completed as promised and at the price that was quoted. Upon entering the car I noticed that the fuel gauge was not work working and on the way home the 'check engine light' also came on. I called back to the shop and within an hour Tim was standing at my front door with his diagnostic computer, asking for access to the car. He checked over and said it was strange but he cleared the codes and the gauge stilled failed to work. The next day driving home from work the 'check engine soon' light reappeared and Tim asked that I bring the vehicle back to him for further testing. After numerous hours of testing they were still unable to explain the fuel gauge not working and the check engine codes. It was then that Tim suggested maybe . . . maybe it was time for Chevrolet to take a look at it. He thought maybe the computer was going bad or something else that his equipment could not detect. Tim's last words to me -'find out what is wrong and let me know . . . apparently he doesn't like not being able to fix a problem. The local Chevy dealer in fact told me they also recommend Mr. Transmission but they to were a bit puzzled by the fuel gauge and check engine light but they would look for the problem. Which they did find and repaired. The following morning I sent a FAX copy of the invoice and on it was the explanation of what they repaired. Directly above the transmission somehow some wires had become dislodged and damaged. That evening the door bell rang and Tim was once again at my house this time with a check to cover the cost of the repair at Chevrolet and again telling me he was (and he proved this to me) a man of his word. Honesty, integrity are words that come to mind - at least for me when I think about Tim, Brad and the folks at Mr. Transmission. The final test in my mind is the answer to this question: 'Would you recommend Mr. Transmission to friends, family and colleagues at work?" YES
Experienced, honest mechanic by
Started having transmission and gear shift problems. Took to the dealer who did an $80 inspection and told me I needed new trans and quoted $1500 for high mileaged used or $3200 for new. Said gear shift was a separate, additional problem. I took to Mr. Transmission to get a rebuild. Tim, the problem-solving pit bull spent 5 hrs. and said both problems were from a faulty computer. He replaced this within 24 hrs. Had I put in a new trans at the dealer, I still would've needed a new computer. Dealer cost would've been $5,000+-- trans, selanoid (sic), and computer. Tim only charged $1,000. Merry Christmas to me!! I highly recommend this competent, honest business and Tim.

After having the transmission on my vehicle gone through, everything was great. That is until I drove up a narrow mountain road when after climbing for a while the transmission wouldn't downshift.I took it back and the computer showed no codes (in other words, no problem) but, Tim wasn't satisfied with that. He rode with me around town with his computer plugged into my vehicle and still, no problem. He said the only way he could diagnose the problem was to reenact the scenario, so he hooked up his computer again and up the mountain we went (1 1/4 hours each way)! He found out that the transmission was overheating and the radiator was no good.After replacing the radiator Tim drove my vehicle back up the mountain and found the trans temperature was better but, not up to his standards. He installed an additional transmission cooler and he went back up again, this time with very successful results. He even replaced the gas he used!Tim wasn't satisfied with mediocre results so he went the extra mile (literally) to diagnose and solve the problem.I highly commend Tim and his guys on a job well done and most definitely recommend them to anyone needing maintenance on their vehicle.If you want someone working on your vehicle who CARES that it's done right, go to Mr. Transmission. You won't regret it for a minute.

Recently Mr Transmission Johnson City TN repaired my Transmission in my Jaguar XJR (A relatively rare Car) They hung in there and after exhaustive trials and errors and time consuming labor they were able to fix it. The only thing keeping me from giving that 5th star is its never a great experience having to spend money to fix a car. What I can say is, the shop was clean, the mechanics were polite and professional, the manager was informantitve and upfront and the end result was my van was fixed, when they told me it would be, for the price we agreed on and it works like it did when I bought it brand new. The manager Brad also called me a few days after I got the van back to make sure I was satisfied and thanked me again doing buisness with him and his company. If asked I will reccommend them. The Professionals - YES THEY ARE!!! by
I was devastated when I learned I had major transmisson problems in my new, well new to me 2007 Audi Q7. Having already spoke to the dealership in Asheville, I knew I was in for many thousands of dollars in repairs. While visiting a friend in Johnson City, TN we took my car by Mr. Transmission for a second opinion and I am so very happy I did. Not only did they save me many thousands of dollars compared to the dealership but they delivered my car early, clean, and with a warranty that will be valid when I go back home to NC. I will always highly recommend Brad & all the employees at Mr. Transmission for any car repairs.
