Mountain West Glass is your Full Service Glass and Window company serving the Pueblo Area.
From shower doors to picture-frame glass, business windows, Residential Window, Shower Doors Mountain West Glass has just about everything.
Locally owned and operated, Mountain West Glass recently opened a showroom at 880 Eagleridge Blvd., in Pueblo. The company’s wholesale side of things, including the storage of lots and lots of glass, is in Pueblo West.
Jay Picco and George Morrone, the owners, and Dave Meadows, the general manager, are all Pueblo West residents, making Mountain West Glass a truly hometown business.
The wholesale portion of Mountain West Glass has been operating since January of 2007, but at the beginning of this year Morrone and Picco decided they wanted to make the business into a full-line glass shop.
“We wanted to turn retail and have a full line of service - auto, residential and commercial,” Morrone said. “All phases, including installation and wholesale.”
Customer service is of utmost importance to Mountain West Glass. Picco, Morrone and Meadows said they know in Pueblo that word-of-mouth works, and they want to build a great reputation throughout the area.
“When people think of needing glass, we want our name to come up,” Meadows said. “That’s what we’re trying to get to.”
Morrone added that pleasing the customer is their top priority.
“We have very competitive pricing for everything we do, and our quality is second-to-none,” he said. “If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right or whatever the customer wants. (Word of mouth) is so big around Pueblo.”
Through the wholesale portion of the business, Mountain West Glass provides glass to smaller glass shops in Colorado Springs, Canon City and other nearby locations.
Retail-wise, Mountain West has all types of glass, including residential and storefront windows, doors, showers, mirrors, replacement glass and more.
“We developed this shop to offer anything anybody needs in glass,” Meadows said.
At the retail showroom, customers can get their hands on samples and see lots of different types of glass in person. Meadows said it’s important for people to be able to see how things look, open and close doors and get a feeling of what they’re looking for.
And nowadays, with “going green” so important to many people, Mountain West has options to help with energy savings.
“We offer replacement windows with the latest technology,” Meadows said. “There are coatings that make windows easier to clean, windows with blinds between the glass, all sorts of things.”
Picco, Morrone and Meadows have known each other a long time, and been in the glass business a long time, too. Together they have more than 80 years of experience in the business. They worked for other area glass companies, but eventually decided to do their own thing.
Eventually, he and Picco decided Pueblo needed a locally owned and operated full-service glass business, a place in town where people could go for a lot of options without having to drive to Colorado Springs or Denver. They started Mountain West Glass and brought Meadows in as the general manager.
“We’ve all wanted to do this for a long time together,” Morrone said. “We talked about it a long time ago. Now we’re doing it.”
