Jacobsen Egg Chair by Moshu - 01/27/2009About four years ago, I bought a 1960's Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair (a sort of concave bowl or egg that you sit into, so that it surrounds a person). The underlying foam was becoming slightly deteriorated and the fabric was lifting in a few places on the inside of the egg. An associate of mine in San Francisco mentioned Mitchell Powell Furnishings in Oregon and recommended him, since my intention was going to be keeping the chair authentic to its period and maintaining its value. I checked on MPF's credentials and recommendations by past customers, and examples of their work was sent to me through emails by Kate. After shopping it around, I negotiated the transport and refurbishing of the chair with Mitchell and Kate over the next month or so. While I had to wait about 5 months for the chair to be finished and returned to me, I am extremely satisfied with the result.
