I'll never call them again by Jeng - 06/07/2009I lost power to about 1/2 the breakers in my house one morning. On the advice of a friend(?), I called Mr Sparky. They sent 2 guys out (one in training) that morning. They arrived quickly and w/in the 4 hour window promised. (they'll do a shorter window than 4 hours but it costs extra).Neither of their 2 electricians gave me the impression they had any idea what they were talking about. They charged me over $200 to come out and look at my breaker box for about 10 minutes. I was told the entire box needs to be replaced and got a bid of over $5K to do the work. When I told them I'd be getting a few competing bids before doing anything, they left and took their bid with them.I've had 2 master electricians look at it since. Both told me there is no reason to replace the entire breaker box. However, if I'd like it done I have bids from each of them that are roughly 1/5 of Mister Sparky's price.
