The mission of Dell Rapids United Methodist Church is to love God and our neighbor, to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to make Him known to all. Methodism has a long and vital history in this region. The Dell Rapids congregation was organized in 1880, nine years prior to South Dakota's statehood. The present structure was updated with a spacious addition, constructed in 1996. With this addition came the cheery Sonshine Room, which has been used for community dinners, workshops and church events.
