Inadequate

3-17-2014 my daughter had to make an ER visit due to excruciating pain from a kidney stone that was attempting to pass through her ureter. A teacher, she was driving through Oklahoma enroute for spring break vacation to Colorado. A chronic kidney stone patient, with four lithotripsy procedures done in just the last two years and countless other stones having been passed without the aid of lithotripsy, this was a true emergency. However, the doctor on call, Dr. Reed, told my daughter that because she had multiple doctors listed in her "online report" they ran that it "did NOT look good" for her to receive medical intervention for the pain she was experiencing. In other words, he was ASSUMING she was a "druggie" just looking for a fix! This is reprehensible and totally out of line. He also told her he had been on call for over 87 hours. Obviously, he was not in a mental, physical, or emotional state to be treating or attending any patient of any sort and apparently he is also a judgmental and biased person who is in the wrong setting to be dealing with valid medical conditions. The visit ended with my daughter not receiving adequate pain control to relieve her pain, all due to a judgmental attitude on the part of this doctor. Shame on him and shame on a hospital administration that would employ such personnel.
