A History of Excellence
McDivitt Law Firm was founded by Attorney Mike and Dr. Karen McDivitt with the purpose of helping injured people throughout Colorado. The firm began in Colorado Springs in 1989 after Mr. McDivitt spent 15 years practicing law in La Junta, Colorado.

With years of experience and the expert guidance of Dr. McDivitt as the firm's Director of Community Outreach, Business Manager and Director of Marketing, the firm has built a culture of community and teamwork. Dr. McDivitt handles all technology issues and customized the firm's original data base. She has owned and operated several commercial businesses and developed the McDivitt Law Firm buildings with her experience as a real estate developer.

Dr. McDivitt received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Denver. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the University of Colorado Alumni Association and the Pikes Peak Mental Health Board.

McDivitt Law Firm is also a family business and welcomed the founders’ son David McDivitt to the firm as a practicing attorney in 2007. The firm's approach to Colorado personal injury litigation and settlement ensures that its clients are always informed about their cases and that every effort is made to aggressively bring their case to a successful conclusion.
