Pros: hands down the cheapest of 4 bids and recommended by insurance companyCons: work not completed by major asbestos it was subbed out. proper asbestos handling procedures were not followed. The shower that is required by law was setup but never used. My neighbor called the state after seeing they were not using hazard suits and were contaminating other areas. (State did come out and found the same thing). Once they "finished" they requested final payment. We told them our concerns of it not meeting the contract requirements that we agreed upon. They elected to have an "independant" inspector come out for a visual inspection. She failed them on the visual inspection. They did correct what she failed them on but it did not meet the contract requirements. The most upsetting thing was we lost most of our personal property in a fire and they took some of the few things that was not contaminated into the contamination zone.

Back in July, there was a fire at my home which needed to be gutted and rebuilt. Our contractor informed us that by law, we had to have our home tested for asbestos before we could move forward with the rebuild. The test report came back positive for numerous materials containing asbestos. He recommended Major Asbestos Control to us and (after requesting bids from 2 other companies), we contracted with them for the job. Their prices were lower than the other companies' and speaking with Mike, I could tell that he was very knowledgeable and had been doing this for a long time. He answered all of my asbestos-related questions and reassured me that they would get the job done quickly so that I would be back in my home in no time. They were very professional, and got the whole thing taken care of within days. I was able to move back into my home that same month! I would highly recommend Major Asbestos Control to anyone needing asbestos removal for their own home!
