Description

The man behind MacSolutions is Mark Winchester. With degrees in graphic design and chemistry, Mark has the rare strength of understanding the artisitc and the technical sides of using computers to accomplish all kinds of tasks - for fun and profit. The only constant with computer software and hardware is ongoing evolution - usually for the better. Mark tries to stay on top of what works and what doesn’t through magazines, lists, websites (see Resources), books and training seminars. He is always on the lookout for tips to enhance productivity and efficiency as well as tricks providing creative options - and enjoys sharing them with you!
Mark has been using computers professionally for seventeen+ years and the Mac platform most of them. His experience includes advertising and education design and layout. He worked in a high-end digital photo studio providing computer system management, color correction and image compositing services. Mark’s growing understanding of color management grows from years of working with prepress and press-room journeymen, seeking to understand what they needed from him, as a designer, so his creative vision for a project could be realized. The tools for getting predictable color with CRT or LCD monitors and inkjet printers continue to improve. Mark’s tech support skills have grown from having his own high end systems at home as well as working with co-workers and customers to resolve the issues that arise in an ever changing computing world.
