I have an 11 month Black Labrador who has pulled me around for about 9 months. Whenever we went on walks or runs, I was the person being walked by their dog. After one class with Live Oak Dog Obedience, we go on walks and we actually walk together. He loves birds and any kind of ball and whenever we went running, he would go nuts over these, pulling me every way but where I wanted to go. After only one class with Live Oak, I took him to Sugar House Park and he was amazing. He didn't go after one bird or ball and stayed at my side. I would recommend this class to all dog owners. This is truly an amazing class and Jan is an amazing teacher. My dog and I have been to other dog classes and have left without gaining anything, I guarantee this won't happen with Live Oak Dog Obedience Classes.

I have a 1 year old labradoodle who would throw tantrums on walks every time we went on one. After 1 class with Live Oak Dog Obedience that all changed. Bulleit is so good on walks that we go more often. I spent money on another training class (with another business) before this and was a complete waste of money. I would highly recommended training with Jan. Looking forward to another class!

Jan has been great with my puppy - understands what he can and can't do as his size is an issue (Irish Wolfhound). She also really enjoys the dogs as well as her job and it shows. I am so glad to have found someone who trains with love and enthusiasm as it make it so much fun for myself and I look forward to each class.

Jan is amazing. You can tell she really knows her stuff. She came to our house for a private lesson and gave us a wealth of information. If you talk to her ahead of picking out your puppy she'll teach you about temperament testing puppies so you make sure you get the right match for your family. I'm so impressed with her and can't wait to start taking our puppy to her classes!

My dog was adopted from the Humane Society at seven years old. He was very food aggressive, territorial, jumped all over the furniture, and seemed to be the worst dog ever! I thought we'd try obedience school, and if that failed... well, what else could we do? Clearly "Buddy" - so cleverly named - had some personality issues. Jan helped us whip him into shape from day ONE! She was very attentive and concerned about our needs and Buddy's behavior patterns. I felt that she wanted the success of our training as much as we did. She was supportive and coached us through those times when we didn't know what else to do. She makes herself available - even maybe when it is inconvenient for her! We now have a happy dog who sits and stays, loves company to come over, is great around children and other dogs, and is generally the complete opposite of what we brought into our home only a short time ago. This trainer works miracles!

My dog is completely different and a big part of the family now! Without Jan we wouldn't have been able to keep her. She helped me get to know how sweet and smart my dog really is by using positive training and repetition. It's fun to see new dogs come into her classes. It reminds me of my first day and how it took me ten minutes to get my dog from the parking lot to Jan's group! I'm not afraid to take my dog for a walk or to the dog park anymore. It's fun for both of us.
