Brief description of summer school times:

Teacher/owner qualifications: Current state certified with 10 years experience in the Tempe school district #3 and 15 years of with Little Ones Preschool for a total of 25 years. She has taught preschool/kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. She earned a Bachelors of Arts in Education from Arizona State University in 1983 and AA from Mesa Community College. She is C.L.I.P certified (Collaborative Literacy Project), Spalding trained and is certified as a master of teaching young children to read. In addition, Violeta is bilingual in Spanish/English, and is trained in the Madeline Hunter Intensive Teacher Method, student teacher trainer, CPR and First Aid Certified.

Staff qualifications: Graduated in May 2010 from ASU with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She is planning to pursue a career in medicine to become a physicians' assistant. In addition, she is a certified with the Arizona Department of Education as a substitute teacher.

The mission of Little Ones Preschool is to provide the best education possible for the school's students. Each child will be given individual direction to suit his/her capabilities in order to maximize their learning. We will accomplish our mission by providing a creative and positive learning atmosphere where the students will feel comfortable and confident in striving to succeed. Students will be invited into an exciting and enriching environment where they will be able to absorb all areas of learning through the integrated language approach as well as Montessori beliefs. The children will be guided and encouraged to participate in the many attention-getting centers displayed throughout the classroom. We feel that at Little Ones, that all students need to experience all avenues of learning. The best way to accomplish this goal is to open the doors to all subject areas by relating each area to the others and making learning available through centers. Centers will consist of: library, listening, art, geography, history, science/biology, practical life skills, songs, block, math, Puzzles, games, flannel board, Spanish, reading skills, writing skills, sensorial exercises and work center.
