Linda’s Furniture opened in Salt Lake City in 1987, first doing business in 4300 square feet of space. The store sold new furniture as well as Gently Used furniture.

The story of Linda’s Furniture began earlier when Linda started buying, painting, and selling chests of drawers while a college student in Edmonton, Alberta. In 1979, during a period of unexpected unemployment in Mesa, Arizona, Linda and her husband Rob decided to take what cash they had and invest in chests of drawers from garage sales, and later added dinettes, bedroom sets, sofa sets, and other saleable items and sold them out of their garage. Later they moved into progressively larger facilities.

In 1983 they decided to start a new furniture store in a prominent location six blocks from a major mall. They obtained $20,000 in starting capital loan from a local bank. The location started out as 1400 square feet in a rented home. The home was later expanded with 3 different add-on buildings in that location, and later they opened a second new furniture store in Tempe, Arizona.

Rob and Linda obtained a location near a large major furniture store and leased it, remodeled, and moved in. When the lease ended, they bought a prominent location in furniture row at 3330 S. Highland drive and remodeled it.

Linda’s Furniture sells New Furniture! The store also sells quality Gently Used Furniture! The store also trades in Gently Used Furniture towards new or used from the store. The store offers name brand furniture at low prices. They keep the overhead to a minimum, offer excellent customer service, and have a great sales staff.
