I toured many facilities around town before choosing Lil' Squirrels to take care of my infant son. The school is clean and the staff are friendly and caring. I think its one of the very best in town. They keep a 3 to 1 ratio in the infant room, which is below the state regs. My son is still breastfeeding and I was encouraged to come during my lunch hour to nurse. It is so hard to find a place that you can feel confident in and comfortable with. My advice to any parent is to tour as many facilities as you can, and be sure to visit Lil' Squirrels. As soon as you enter the school, you will know that you are in an environment where children are cherished. We are relocating out of state and it will be difficult to find another school that lives up to the standard of care delivered at Lil' Squirrels.

My son went to Lil' Squirrels preschool for two years and as child and parents, we absolutely loved it! My son looked forward to school daily, learned everything he needed to and more to prepare him for Kindergarten, and still misses the staff now as he is coming to the end of Kindergarten! I have three children, the youngest of which attended Lil' Squirrels and I can see a BIG difference in the knowledge and abilities that my youngest has. Thank you Shirley and staff at Lil' Squirrels for a great headstart, loving environment, and memories that we will hold on to!

School is always dirty, teachers really don't take of their classrooms very well. The director doesn't seem to know what's going on with her center and doesn't usually put in her effort there, just depends on her staff to keep things going. Most of the teachers are great, they do care about the kid's learning, but just managed poorly. They tend to not let parents know what's going on unless its severe, I feel as a parent it is always good to know what is going on, not just told the samething all the time.

My daughther has gone to Lil' Squirrels since they opened and we are VERY happy. The teachers are great with the children and provide a stable and loving environment. I am an educator myself and have been very pleased with the curriculum and the manner in which it is presented. My daughter will attend Kindergarten starting in the Fall and she is more than ready to go given the skills she has learned while at Lil' Squirrels! I have never had a problem with a lack of communication from the teachers or Shirley. They provide daily reports for each child and conduct bi-annual parent/teacher conferences. We love it!

Besides my husband and myself be very pleased with the teaching curriculum, before and after care program along with the hands on staff , my 2 children have had a wonderful experience at Lil Squirrels preschool for the last 4 years. They enjoy going to school everyday and they convey at home what they enjoyed learning that day along with experiences they have had with their friends. We are very happy overall with this preschool program along with the teacher child ratios. I would recommend this preschool to anybody looking!!!

This school is not worth the money. My daughter likes her teacher and her friends, which is the only reason I kept her here as long as I did. I have nothing negative to say about my child's teacher. However, my phone calls are always unanswered and voicemails never returned from Shirley Padilla. She's never there. There is no communication between staff members. There are not meals provided for the kids. When I stopped in randomly, just after lunch-time, the kids were watching a disney movie. I pay for preschool- not daycare! I could send her anywhere and get that- and not pay 800/month (9600/year!).

I went in on a recommendation by a co-worker and when I walked in only to see several people (assuming they were employees) I waited at least 15 mintues before someone would acknowledge I was at the window. I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment with the director. I left my name and home and cell number and no one ever returned my call. Poor customer service.

My child has been attending for almost a year. She started at 2 and has now graduated to the preschool program:) I'm amazed with how much she learns every day and how much she enjoys the environment. I enjoy the daily reports they provide. The staff always greets me with a smile and I trust all of them with my childs well being and development while I'm stuck at work.... Absolutely would recommend this place!

We enrolled our child thinking she would be in an educational environment - not the case! Their true philosophy (at least for 1yr olds) is that children at that age are too young to be taught things like colors, shapes, numbers, let alone be exposed to the written word. Their focus on communication means sign language, not verbal language, which in our experience frustrates the child when they cannont communicate with anyone outside the school. They only change diapers in the 1yr room 3 times a day. Our child would get severe diaper rashes that ended when our child stopped going there. If a child develops or learns faster than is typical (which was the case with our child) the child is not encouraged but in fact held back. We would voice our concerns to the teachers and the director, but they have no intention of listening to parents. Our experience with them is that they do the bare minimum required by law and nothing more. Their emphasis is not on teaching but on daycare.
