educational toys galore

by coates , 10/26/2007

Learning sprout has a very good selection of toys and teaching supplies. Also, they do monthly Saturday activity days upstairs where kids can do hands on art, etc.

Helpful folks; good stock; pricey

I love Learning Sprout, but the place (like pretty much all specialty toy stores) can break the bank. We loved the experience of buying our son's erector set there - good advice, prompt help - but my credit card is still cooling off.

I can stay in this store all day long! wide variety of fun learning tools... but their foreign language section is disappointing!

Your Kids Won't Even Notice They Are Learning!

For years, Learning Sprout, nee Learning Connection has focused on Teaching supplies with a side of toys. Recently, however, they have taken on toys in a big way and kept a fairly robust teaching resources section. Learning Sprout has a wide array of educational and irresistable toys. Things that you used to have to order from a catalog or internet now have a retail space in downtown Tacoma. They have an impressive array of Playmobil, science kits, including models and rocketry, kites, puzzles, games, books, dolls, stuffed animals. and other fun and educational things are waiting for you and your family. The prices are about what you would expect for top of the line toys but you won't find a single thing with Dora or Spiderman on it.###TIP: If you have a nostalgic leaning towards school, venture upstairs for charts, reward stickers, tempura paint powder, math manipulatives and numerous other classroom supplies.

ever evolving toy/teaching store

I drool over the offerings in here. Huge selection of wooden toys, including Melissa and Doug. The focus here is on learning, so that is what you will find. Neat, unique selection. Helpful staff. Fun!
