Kumon may seem to work for some children, but not ALL. My son has been with Kumon for a year and had not made any progress in his math nor reading. In search for an alternative, we found Beestar really helpful. Beestar offers free math and multiple subjects as well, such as: reading, sciences, social studies, and writing. They do not load the students with homework to complete on their own, rather, they give a manageable amount for the students to finish. Needless to say, they also provide online management services for us parents to make it more convenient to check their progress wherever we may be. You may want to take Beestar in consideration, as my son has been making progress ever since he's been enrolled with Beestar and it's been a good first year so far! We definitely would recommend Beestar!
