Here is our philosophical approach:

Although many view watch and clock repairs as a trade, considering it a Manual Arts discipline; we emphasize the highly technical and theoretical aspect of Horology in every repair. Horology encompasses many scientific theories into one body of knowledge. Apprenticeship aside, the most competent horologists must undergo at least three years of formal training in Astronomy, Physics, Geometry, Algebraic Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and even Chemistry.

At Klox Dok, we go a step further and apply the scientific method with ideas from the field of medicine. We approach every mechanical device, as a "patient" and treat it with dignity and respect.

For too long, we have witnessed the work of many amateurs and dilettantes posing as professionals while destroying valuable timepieces with unacceptable procedures. Some of these profiteers have been getting away with it for decades! That is why we vow to follow the oath of our governing body The American Watchmakers and Clockmakers Institute, to serve and protect your timepiece from mediocre repairs. We hold our work to the highest standards and yet at an astoundingly reasonable cost. Like doctors and lawyers, we also do pro-bono work, to let our community know how much we love our work and to establish good will. This pro-bono means that once every two months, we do a job absolutely free of cost! So call us and you may be the lucky one to get a free service.

Just as a doctor would, we are available for emergency repairs at off hours with a 24-hour phone service, and we do house calls.

At Klox Dok, we apply a medical procedure in the diagnosis of the problem and execute the solution with the skill and delicacy of a brain surgeon. When encountered with situations like a Hamilton 973 with a balance spring that measures fractions thinner than a human hair, it is imperative to handle it with the dexterity, eyesight and steady pulse of a seasoned surgeon!

Klox Dok's novel approach is not limited to clocks and watches; we service other antique mechanical devices that have gears such as music boxes, jukeboxes, victrolas, phonographs and memorabilia wind-up toys.

We also provide our services to museums, jewelers and other repair shops that encounter complex problems.
