I worked with john and his father jim in 1972. we would canvas neighborhoods offering a 10 pack of pespi to homeowners who wanted to see a Kirby demo...most times they would let us in their home for a demo.....sometimes they would call the cops.....I have been in many homes in the s.f.v. valley,,,and at no time did I come across a vacuum that could stand up to a Kirby....yes they are a little heavy,,but they will last 20 years,,and they are made in America...after 20 years you can have them rebuilt for around 150...and use them for another 20 years.....I have a lot of fond memories working at the Granada hills Kirby co. ......keith Philip schmidt
