Beginning social dancing is great for a wedding first dance or just for fun. Learn in a very personable, distraction-free private studio located in the Eubank and Indian school neighborhood with easy access. Most students learn more in one private lesson at the Just wanna dance studio, than two or three private lessons at most larger studios.

Just wanna dance offers general dance lessons in private or design your own mini-group where you choose the dance. These are pay as you go, absolutely no large contracts, and realistically priced. The simple basic techniques, which make even the simple steps, appear slick and more difficult combinations possible, is something rarely learned in large group classes or even most beginning private lessons. At Just wanna dance these important techniques are taught from your first private or mini-group.

Dances taught: American Style Tango; Waltz; Foxtrot; Salsa; Mambo; Rumba; Cha Cha; Merengue; Original American Nightclub Two-Step; East Coast Swing; West Coast Swing; and Country Two-Step.

Just wanna dance works with wedding couples for their first dance; even last minute work. In most circumstances these are pay as you go; a pre-payment may be necessary for a last minute of only three lessons. Please have the information for the music title, artist, & version or album available when you call or email. For best results allow at least four months prior to your wedding to learn an impressive first dance. You want to be finished with your first dance at least four weeks before your wedding. This will give you time to practice and make your first dance your own.

All lessons are by appointment only, Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Instructor qualifications:

Karen Lantz began her dance experience in the third grade. Early years consisted of 10 years of tap and jazz. Starting in 1993 Karen began studying ballroom and Latin through UNM then continued with private coaching through major dance studios and many visiting coaches. Karen competed from 1995 to 2002 both pro-am and with amateur partners of the same level; however, all the trophies pale in comparison to the light in a student’s face who discovers the joy of dancing.
