They are wonderful! (Reading the review above was like reading someone's gripe.)

After having shopped at other stores in the area and the finest in Jackson, the Jeweler’s Bench had exactly what we were looking for in my diamond engagement ring.

We have purchased numerous pieces from the Jeweler's Bench and been extremely impressed with their quality and professionalism. Not only have we purchased our wedding bands and my engagement rings there, they have also done appraisal for our family for pieces worth much more than the first review's "$200.00 watch." I cannot speak to their watch battery changing but I will speak to their ability to repair and alter 14k gold pieces and diamonds—in one word excellent.

I would send anyone I know to them.

On Dec. 30, 2008, I went into the Jeweler's Bench to have my dual-time watch battery changed. When the man who was taking "care" of my watch came out to try to get me to purchase a 2nd battery, I politely refused and he began talking down to me. I've worked in high end jewelry places and never talked down to any patrons. I think he felt he could because I wasn't dressed to the nines for him. Anyway, I overlooked the attitude, paid the fee, and left with my boyfriend. As we got to the red light, I realized that the time wasn't set so I started to set it. That's when my bottom knob fell off. This is a high quality, water-resistant, Skagen watch (approximately $200 retail) that has never given me any trouble before. It was the first time I've ever needed a battery changed. Needless to say, we turned around immediately to talk to the man about it and see if he would fix it. When I explained exactly how it happened, he swore up and down that he didn't touch it. I told him that I found it strange that the only time I've ever taken the watch in for anything that's when the knob mysteriously decides to just "pop" off. After more of the same "It's not my fault" lines, I finally got him to see if he could fix it. I wasn't upset with the problem with the knob because I understand a simple mistake. I became a bit disgusted with his attitude of not offering a simple "let me see if I can fix it," but instead he continued his complete arrogant disrespect for me. By the late evening I was over the whole ordeal with him.



However, the next day, after taking a shower, I checked to see what time it was getting to be. That's when I noticed condensation on the inside of the crystal of my watch. Both clocks had stopped. I was on the verge of a conniption fit. I mean, I had already dealt with that man's horrible attitude toward me twice. So before I started having a freak out, I took my watch off to inspect it closer. The man didn't even close the backing properly! If I had known I was going to have to go behind everything that man who's supposed to be a professional in the watch field, I would have simply gone to Walmart and saved myself half the price! At least Walmart will be upfront about what happens if they screw up your watch! I WILL NEVER GO TO THE JEWELER'S BENCH AGAIN! If I have to, I will drive an hour and a half to a real jeweler who respects everyone, not just those who wear Prada!



In case you were wondering, after 8 minutes of having the hair dryer directly on the watch, the water dried out of my watch and started back again. Luckily for me, I caught it in time. I would have been out of a high quality collector's watch because of his refusal to do simple tasks that he's paid to do.



I urge you not to go to the Jeweler's Bench for any reason--- unless you like being talked down to as if you were 5 years old.
