Worst experience ever

by Jaijai , 11/10/2014

I had a scheduled appointmenton a Sunday I arrived 10 minutes late and no one was there. I called amnd she said she was on the way. Forty minutes later she arrives toopen the door for me and the stylist who was going to do my daughter's hair. SHe then tell me that I have the wrong hair and I need to go get more at 10AM on a Sunday (Beauty supply stores don''t open until noon or 1). I was under the impression that for $180 it included hair but no it didn't. Way too expensive. I politly took the hair that I bought and went to Asta African braids where I paid $160 and she had no problem with the hair that I had. Or I could have paid $180 and she provided the hair. That is where I will continue to go!

Great Kid Styles

by Satisfied Customer , 08/02/2014

I bring my son and daughter in to get their hair cornrowed. I never really schedule an appointment, I always call the same day I need it and they are always available. I'm usually in and out within a couple of hours. I love the styles and the prices. My kids can go a month and sometimes longer when I take them into Jessy's shop to get their hair braided. I don't go anywhere else. I appreciate their quality and the creativity when it comes to braiding.

I have been a client of Jessie's for over 10yrs. She is amazing. She always starts on time and she always does a great job. I take my mom, daughter, 2 nieces and my sister there and they love her too..If you want your money worth and more, she is the place to be. She has done my kinky twist, seneglese twist and goddess braids and I love them all!!!

I went in for micros I called and scheduled my appointment they said to come in at 3. Due to weather I was ten minutes late not that it mattered bc all the chairs were full. After waiting ten to fifteen mins the owner comes over and asks me what i was scheduled for. I told her, micros and she tells me they dont do,micros on natural hair unless it is straightened. she then offers kinky twist which I am not a fan of so I say never mind I will go somewhere that will do my natural hair the way it is. By this time the braider for my hair is done and comes over. She agrees to senegalese twists I say fine. Get in the chair and she hears me on the phone say I want micros I dnt see the problem since that is what I wanted originally! She tells me she can do micros but it will be 200 plus 40 for the hair!!! When its only 160 otherwise!!! This place is a rip off and RUDE. I don't mind paying for what I want but if you have no customer service and give me the run around you don't deserve my business

I made an appointment a week in advance for Senegalese twists and I called every day to confirm my appointment only because I know that in the past, the stylists never shows up or they start my hair late. When I got there, I sat and waited for about 30 minutes before any of the stylists even acknowledged me sitting there. THe owner (Jessy) then approaches me and says the stylist is running late because she had "something" to do. I sat for 3 hours....yes, 3 hours before I got up to leave and the owner told me that I should consider another style so I could still get my hair braided. Because I was leaving for NYC the next morning, I had to get something done ASAP because I wasted 3 hours already. I ended up getting cornrows which were BIG and they charged $140.00. Now how is that possible when the Senegalese twists took longer and were much smaller and would cost $200. I'm now on week 2 and these cornrows are fuzzy and I am very disappointed. She will never get my money again!!

Jessy's hair braiding 3/14/2011

If you are looking for a shop then this should be the one you choose. At first I questioned whether or not to go because I have had a bad experience with African braiding shop with them braiding too tight but I tried it. After calling all over town setting appointments and no one was available when I needed my hair done. I tried it out anyway and to my surprise I love it. They told me if they were braiding too tight just let her know and she would go easy and she did. Don't ever judge one shop with others. Plus they finish braided my in 4 hours last time I got my hair braided (kinky twist0 it took 71/2 hour and the girls still did not finish the top of my head. I end up wearing my hair in a pony tail the whole time because the top was not finish. Jessy's Hair Braiding is the best!!!!!
