Islander Spas in Ojai, CA

We purchased our ES8000 spa 7 years ago. We never had any problems until just recently when we shut the power off. We want to reprogram the filtration settings, but we can't seem to get help. If anybody out there has the answer, we would certainlyappreciate any info you have to offer.
ES-8000D Islander Spa

I purchased a Islander Spa ES-8000D about 20 months ago. Since my purchase I have had a problem with the 250V Acura spa system. Since no one at the Islander dealership will return any calls or e-mails I can only assume that the Islander warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. After paying over $700 to have it repaired by another company I have the same problem about a month later. So much for customer satisfaction.
out of business
by TerieInVegas , 10/12/2009
it seems they are out of business. The Las Vegas dealer closed earlier this year and now it seems the manufacturer Burboa Manufacturing I gone too. Out spa is just a year old, Ok this is the replacement for it's only 10 months old, and we just noticed 2 cracks and the bottom is coming apart. We all got ripped off, kiss that money goodbye. No one around here wants to work on these substandard spas either, so I don't know what to do here in Vegas. This was a bad purchase to say the least.

My Spa is just over 2 years old and the controller caught fire last winter. $1200.00 to repair this Islander junk. I've had nothing but trouble from day one. They came, dropped it off and it wouldn't even start. The dealer told me to get used to doing this myself. I had to get a tool and open a pipe fitting and let the air out. So much for my first day with Islander.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone in this. We bought our spa at the IA State Fair in August 2004 and have had things repaired and many jets replaced. While there was an Islander Spas store in Des Moines, IA we were able to get our problems solved. Supposedly due to the econony that store is temporarily closed. We have had problems getting our broken jets replaced as no one from this business wants to help us. We have been dealing with a gentleman at Islander Spas in CA since April 30th and he has done nothing for us but give us a huge run around. We were told he'd send us new jets and would charge us and when he received our broken jets he would credit us back. After several phone calls and LIES from this gentleman we still have no new jets. This gentleman told us he finally located our old jets and said that they were damaged due to chemicals so we would have to pay for them. They should be covered by warranty as nothing states in the warranty anything about misu
Islander Spas in Urbandale, where did you go?
by mickeymouse , 07/01/2009
We purchased ours a four years ago at the fair. We have not had any major problems until today. They were always great to assist over the phone. They even came out right away when we had a vapor lock.I called the Urbandale showroom and the phone is now disconnected. I think they have closed that store. Before they were in Urbandale we used to buy and get our service from Odyssey Spas in Pella, Iowa. I guess that is where we will go for now. I will also try calling corp. office in California and see what they can tell me. I know that this has been a while since your comment was posted. If you found a local service that will do repairs please re-post and let me know what you did to solve your problem.

We live in Pleasant Hill and bought one last year as well. We drove to their store twice and saw that everything appears to be closed. The inventory is still on the floor, but everything is locked up even though the signs show that they should be open. Something tells me they've gone out of business. It would be nice if they'd send a mailing to those of us with warranties explaining what's going on.

bought spa at 2008 Ia state fair. I am having problems with it and can not get a hold of anyone at islander spas. Have been trying for over a month.(phone, fax and emails) The way it's looking I'm going to be throwing an $8000 spa away.
