I recently got a gym membership at InShape Health Club on March Ln in Stockton. The guy who signed me up said that they had a kid's club for my daughter and I could sit in there with her and that the ladies working there were great with the kids.



I signed up myself and my two-year-old for 3 years.



The first time I went to the gym, I dropped my daughter off in the kid's area and worked out for 30 minutes. When I went in to pick up my daughter, the lady working there had my daughter by her wrist and was yanking her out of the play area forcefully. She did not realize I was there. Once she saw me, she instantly changed her demeanor and let go of my kid's wrist.



This instantly raised a red flag for me. I was very upset. I wanted to think about how I was going to handle the situation so I went home with my daughter.



I decided not to bring my daughter there again. I kept paying the monthly fee and did not continue to go to the gym.



My trainer from the gym called about 2 weeks later to see how I was doing. I explained to him what had happened and he apologized for the bad experience and asked what the lady's name was. I did not know her name so I gave him her description and what time and day my daughter was in the kid's club.



A month later, I felt that I wanted to start going to the gym again and decided I would just sit in with my daughter to make sure she was safe and to get some piece of mind after our bad experience.



The same lady who yanked my daughter by her wrist was working there. I was a little confused but decided that I would just sit in the kid's club with my daughter since we were there. The lady told me I was not allowed to stay in there with my daughter and that I would have to go sit in the lobby or go work out. I asked to speak with her supervisor and explained that when I had joined, I was told that I was allowed to sit in with my daughter. The supervisor told me that it's pointless for me to sit in with my daughter and parents are only allowed to drop their kids off. She did nothing to make me feel more comfortable and I did not feel okay leaving my daughter there after our previous experience so we left back home.



I am stuck with a 3 year contract and will not be bringing my daughter back.



If you have children, consider their safety.

Steam Room breaks and is out of service for months! When you ask when it will be fixed ,the girl up front was rude and said she didn't know but I can drive to a different facility if I want to use a steam room.
