Thank God for Dentists Who are Getting Away from Mercury by PeeWeeFlowers - 08/01/2009Hunting Hills Dentists' website shows porcelain crowns without a metal base. These are much safer as porcelain fused to metal crowns have nickel bases which can cause allergies. The tooth colored fillings are mercury free, but dentists who advertise they are mercury free could be disciplined by the dental board. If you need mercury fillings removed, you need a biological dentist who has received special training from holistic dental organizations like the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Biological dentists test for allergies to dental materials and dentists are urged to use special equipment and procedures to reduce patient's exposure to mercury vapor. Protocols include the use of an oxygen mask so the patient doesn't breathe mercury vapor while the dentist drills out the filling. For a list of biological dentists contact the non profit group DAMS. Hunting Hills has a lot to offer that is much safer than other dentists in Roanoke who still use mercury.
